The smallest and cheapest Samsung flagship product is mostly the advantage of the S10 series, but the number of flat-panel TVs and one camera is smaller.

The Galaxy S10e is Samsung's attempt to deliver a flagship smartphone experience with a smaller body and lower cost, which is mostly effective.

The recipe is simple: use the same processor, slightly reduce the memory and squeeze it into a smaller, simpler body.

The AMOLED screen is only 5.8 inches diagonally, only FHD + and only flat, with no edges bent. Whether or not these disadvantages depend on your perception of the curved screen. The display is not significantly worse than S10, and it still has an aperture that is self-piercing from the camera.

The display is covered in last year's Corning Gorilla Glass 5, not the conventional S10, so it may be slightly scratch-resistant or smashable when hit easily.

With round metal sides and glass front and back, it looks quite simple in design. With a prismatic white or canary yellow, it will stand out from the crowd. The S10e is easy to hold, with a width of only 69.9 mm and a height of 142.2 mm, ...
... making it one of the smallest flagship phones on the market, the same as Google's Pixel 3.

In fact it is not smaller than the S10 because it is only 0.5 mm narrower and 7 grams is lighter.

There is a smaller point on the bottom of the headphone jack, close to the USB-C port, the phone is waterproof to IP68 standard: 1.5 meters depth, up to 30 minutes.

The Galaxy S10e has the same processor - the European Union's Samsung Exynos 9820 or the US Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 - as the larger, more expensive Galaxy S10 and S10+.

Cheaper phones have only 6GB of memory instead of 8GB, but most people may not notice it because performance is almost the same. Only occasionally reload an app from the list of recently used apps.

The S10e's battery life is 25 hours, which is disappointing, the same as the regular S10. With the Always On Demand (AOD) setting, the phone will last from 7 am the next morning to 9 am the next day, which may be enough to get you started.

This is five hours of browsing and using the app, with lots of push messages and emails, watching 60 minutes of offline video, taking about five photos a day, and listening to Spotify for about five hours using a Bluetooth headset.

Samsung One UI

The Galaxy S10e runs the same new One UI version of Android 9 Pie as the rest of the S10 series, and is a significant improvement over the previous version of the Samsung Custom Android experience.

Most of the changes are made to make large phones easier to use, but given the small size of the S10e, they are less improved. Still, everything looks good and works well. The only area where Samsung is clearly behind the curve is gesture navigation. Its sliding pads work fine but are harder to reach and less fluid than competitors. I ended up using the traditional navigation buttons.

Fingerprint Scanner In The Power Button

Unlike other products in the S10 series, the Galaxy S10e has a built-in capacitive fingerprint scanner built into the power button. It's fast, accurate, and aligned with the approximate location on the side of the phone, and you'll usually press the power button.

One of the areas where the S10e is not as good as its expensive siblings is in the camera. There are only two cameras on the back, not three. Despite this, the main 12-megapixel camera is also equipped with a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera that allows the zoom to reach a pure number, which is significantly worse than the S10 or S10+.

S10e is very suitable for playing in the hands, the bigger S10 is more exciting.

This phone comes pre-loaded with a screen protector.

Stereo speakers are very good.

There is a Bixby button on the left that can be safely ignored.

The Samsung Galaxy S10e is available in white, black, green or yellow for £669.

In contrast, the 6.1in Galaxy S10 is priced at £799, the 6.4-inch Galaxy S10+ is priced at £899.

With the Galaxy S10e, Samsung has successfully condensed the benefits of its 2019 flagship S10 series into smaller, cheaper products.

It's full of good, but not the best features. The screen is great, the camera is good, but there is no optical zoom, the fingerprint scanner is fast, but it is very embarrassing for the left-hander, although the performance is very good, the battery life is a little weak.
