There are so many students across the country who aspire to be doctors from a very early age. The art of medical science interests them and they want to pursue it as their career. But as kids, we are unaware of the actual scenario in the real-life world and by the time we realise our dreams might never come to life, it gets too late. Medical sciences as a career sees a similar trend in India. Thousands of students every year aspire of becoming a doctor. They work hard for more than two years. Some people devote themselves so much that they kill their social and personal life as well. All that is left for them is to crack all India medical exam to secure a seat in a government medical college. As it has been observed that children can burn the midnight oil as much as they want but only a handful get through. Reason for this is not because only a handful can handle the exam, it is because of the limited availability of the seat.
It is seen that the difference in the number of seats offered by government colleges and the students aspiring to secure one is strikingly large. This calls for a cry for help. Not even a decent fraction of students can make to the medical colleges. Many of them either give up or drop a year. Some get so disappointed and stressed that they even commit suicide. One might say if they desire to become of doctor is so strong, why not consider a private medical college? It isn’t as simple as it sounds. Statistically speaking. A high population of India is under the poor category. These families need financial assistance to run a living. Going to school is also a big thing for the children of these families, thinking about higher education is a far cry. Though the junior school education is subsidised, in case of senior school admission the fees are much low. Even that is not feasible for certain families to pay. Thus, affording private education, that too in the field of medicine is too much for most of the country. All this just paints one picture in front of us that the majority of students in India do not have the right to pursue the field of their choice. But now that is not an issue. Thanks to the medical council of India.
Many students dream of studying abroad. Medical council of India has combined this dream with students dream of pursuing medicine. There are a few universities and institutions in countries like Ukraine, Russia, etc. That have been recognised by the medical council of India. These institutions have authorised a few agents in India to send a certain number of students, every year, to pursue medicine there. This is a much better option as compared to any private university in India. Russia has been considered to have great institutions offering excellent training in medical sciences.
