This stylish 2-in-1 nail is basic, but does not count on fireworks.
Like the previous X2, HP was inspired by the design and functionality of the Microsoft Surface Pro, and a number of excellent devices have been built between the two companies. Given that last year's Surface Pro 6 found Microsoft's usual high standards, HP's Elite X2 showed its credentials.

Design

HP's latest version of the Elite X2 is almost identical to its predecessor, but it's not a bad thing at all. The only discernible change is that it has a slightly larger display and there is no horizontal black bar at the top of the back, which found an 8 megapixel camera. In addition, the 1013 G3 mimics the appearance and feel of the 1012 Surface Pro-esque.

From a sophisticated display to a thin keyboard cover, the X2 exudes a professional aesthetic and luster that masks its powerful design. This is enhanced by the sturdy silver-plated aluminum chassis, which is especially noticeable during handling. For a device that looks like a business first, it looks like it's fashionable, but it's not an easy task, but when you dig under the surface, ...
... there are one or two questions to answer.

Given that Microsoft's devices also come with a 12.3-inch screen, the comparison with Surface Pro 6 will be very bad. The X2's display is thinner than the Surface Pro 6, but 7.9mm instead of 8.5mm without the key cover. The X2 1013 weighs only 100 grams, weighs 1.18 kilograms, and the key cover is 810 grams.

Display

At first glance, the Elite X2's 13-inch IPS touchscreen display is very active and has been improved on its predecessor's excellent 12.3-inch flat panel display.

Although the 3000 x 2,000 screen does not reach 4K resolution, it is one step away from the 2,736 x 1,824 resolution of the X2 1012 and Surface Pro 6. It also matches the resolution of Huawei's MateBook X Pro, which has an amazing display. The color is clear and fairly accurate, while the coverage of the sRGB spectrum reaches an astonishing 91.5%. In fact, this means too much supersaturated green and blue and slightly unsaturated red.

Like the Elite X2 1012, this display is made from a sturdy Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating, but unfortunately lacks an anti-glare coating. Fortunately, these levels of brightness are high enough to overcome most reflections when using the device in a well-lit room, but it can be more challenging when you lower the brightness or place the machine in direct sunlight. However, it is commendable that work under these conditions is completely controllable, as long as you can stare at your reflection comfortably.

Keyboard And Touchpad

Despite its relative weight, the Elite X2's detachable keyboard feels as strong as any traditional notebook. In addition, its typing experience makes this device a great fit.

The keystrokes are very crisp and the buttons themselves emit a deeper travel distance than the slender frame of the cover. In addition, they are very spaced and sized so that the wrong letters or symbols are not accidentally mistaken when typing. Given that HP's 2-in-1 keyboards typically meet high standards, this should not be surprising. But this only works on solid surfaces such as desktops or workbenches. For example, typing on your knees can make the machine look like a thin look, and quick keystrokes can shake the display.

In addition, the F1 to F12 keys also have beautiful shortcuts such as a surface calendar, or activate HP's Sure View screen security features (with compatible displays), as well as several keys around its cellular features.

Specifications And Performance

The two-in-one is equipped with a quad-core Intel Core i7-8650U processor with a basic clock speed of 1.9GHz and 16GB of LPDDR3 memory. Elsewhere, the device uses the Intel UHD 620 graphics chip and has a fairly large 512GB SSD drive.

HP's design strength means that it's sometimes easy to forget that the Elite X2 is essentially a tablet with a clip-on keyboard instead of a stylish, lightweight laptop. Performance problems due to lack of effective cooling will bring you back to life.

Port And Function

The HP Elite X2 is truly good at its range of security-centric features and ports, with two USB-C 3.1 ports that support Thunderbolt, a USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and even a nano - SIM card slot and convenient 4G wireless chip let you work anywhere, without worrying about interruptions. The device is also equipped with a 5 megapixel front camera, an infrared camera for face authentication, and an 8 megapixel camera facing the rear. The concealed speakers developed by Bang & Olufsen also provide good audio playback for the 2-in-1. There is also a Bluetooth-powered digital pen that provides another way to interact with the device and open the application remotely. It is especially useful when rendered.

Verdict

The HP Elite X2 1013 G3 is a combination of good and bad, with a gorgeous display, stylish aesthetics and an excellent keyboard-touchpad combination for a very rugged device. A wide range of features - including SIM compatibility, digital pens and convenient security-centric tools - offer a lot of commercial appeal.

This 2-in-1 product does dominate the workplace and is the perfect choice for the latest Surface Pro for the 2-in-1 product on the market. But it's costly, and if you don't plan to take full advantage of stand-alone tablets, there's no real replacement for compact and versatile laptops. At the same time, substandard battery life is a major factor in a few defects, including inconsistent performance and strangely positioned ports.

In the end, the HP Elite X2 1013 can be said to be good, and of course useful (for example, it is almost unbeatable in terms of portability). Unfortunately, in addition to a range of rugged features, its advantages match on many cheap competitors (including 360-degree two-in-one and laptops) - if not beaten - which means it's hard to recommend Elite X2.
