People go for their studies and job outside their hometown and want a place of accommodation. People prefer paying guest as it is less costly than the rented house and they also get food and other facilities. People must know that paying guest is not a legal thing and that is the reason they should follow the tips given here before going for a paying guest.

Agreement

A lease agreement is required in which it should be mentioned that the person will stay at least one year as a paying guest.
The license agreement is not needed in such a case. If the agreement between the landlord and the paying guest is more than one year, registration is compulsory and the paying guest must ask the landlord to have the registration.

Police verification

In most of the states, it is compulsory that the landlord should have a police verification of the tenant before giving him the facility of paying guest.

Getting PG without local guardians

Students and people on the job can get PG accommodation without the help of local guardians. There are some boys PG in Delhi where paying guest is denied if the tenant does not have a local guardian. Though, legally it is not necessary that the tenant must have a local guardian.

Safety from police raids

There are cases where paying guests are shut down as the landlord does not pay taxes. In order to avoid such a situation and to save himself, the tenant should enquire the owner about the required licenses for running paying guest accommodation. This will save the tenant from shutting down of paying guest.
