An Apple Macbook Pro 13 In Perfection And Redefined Review
Apple is known for producing quality equipment, which is a well-deserved device. In particular, the MacBook Pro series has been the highest mark of notebook design for the past few years, thanks to superior performance and the company's iconic visual appeal.
A new version of Apple's professional notebooks has arrived, with a fast 8th generation Intel processor and some new features. These updates, though small, are really important. But Dell's latest XPS 13 surpasses the previous MacBook Pro, can Apple return to the 13-inch throne?
Like all of its devices, Apple's MacBook is also very well designed. In fact, they are widely considered to be comprehensive top-level devices, from Air to Pro. The latest MacBook Pro is comparable to the previous version, with a brushed aluminum finish, whether it's space gray or silver. It's still very lightweight, slim, and easy to slip into the bag, and doesn't really provide too much volume.
Apple's display is also one of its MacBook title features. After the company launched its iPad and iPhone series last year, it has introduced its True Tone ...
... display to its latest version of the MacBook. True Tone actually changes the white balance of the screen based on the lighting conditions at your location. If you use it for a while, the result is less eye pressure - a good addition to the staff who use the MacBook Pro as the host computer.
However, it can change the look and feel of the screen, making the color look biased at some point. Therefore, if you use it for Photo shopping or video tasks, you may need to turn it off temporarily.
Keyboard And Trackpad
Surprisingly, Apple's current keyboard design has been around for four years, and it first appeared on the 12-inch 2015 MacBook. Apple's "Butterfly Design" has received a lot of complaints since its launch, mainly because customers have found that the keyboard is completely ineffective when dust or other materials fall under the key.
So while the design is the same as the previous cumbersome keyboard design (we are talking about models before 2017), Apple has updated the keyboard with this latest MacBook Pro and added rubber pads to the keyboard, which the company says is quieter typing. But the rubber film also helps prevent dust.
Now let's discuss this issue: power. The MacBook Pro (as the name suggests) is a professional-grade machine, so there is no muscle to support it, and all its design value and fancy keyboard are just decorative facades.
Fortunately, Apple has not stagnated in terms of performance - in fact, most upgrades are concentrated here. The basic configuration of the new MacBook Pro features a quad-core 2.3GHz Intel 8th Core Core i5 processor, 8GB LPDDR3 RAM and 256GB SSD. This configuration includes £1,749 (tax included), although there is another default configuration, an additional £200, the only difference is the higher capacity 512GB drive.
Those impressive components are not wasted. This is the most powerful 13-inch laptop we've ever seen - and it's quite big. In our benchmarks, it easily surpassed XPS 13, Spectre 13, Microsoft's latest Surface Pro and even Surface Book 2, surpassing all of this, with a total score of 150 points. For reference, this is 50% faster than the score. Managed by XPS 13, it is up nearly 150% faster than last year's 13-inch MacBook Pro.
Despite the fact that there are no separate GPUs available, it is also surprising in terms of professional rendering tasks. The CPU-based part of the Cine Bench rendering benchmark is not far behind the 15-inch MacBook Pro, and its performance in the Lux Mark test is also credible.
Incredibly, compared to last year, Apple has managed to take full advantage of this full functionality without compromising battery life. In fact, the battery life has actually increased by an entire hour, and the new model scored 8 hours and 41 points in our battery test. This is the lead of all of its major competitors, the XPS 13, which is worth noting given the number of beasts on this laptop.
We're used to Apple's laptops, but the new MacBook Pro is definitely a work of art. It may not be as thin as some of its competition, but it makes up for it by becoming the most powerful 13-inch laptop. It's not as awesome as a 15-inch brother with a GPU, but it still kills all the lack of serious enterprise-level rendering workloads.
