Summer is here and so are the days of scorching heat and sweating. We have long lost those days when summer was all about the soothing sunlight and blooming flowers. Due to the increasing pollution, the temperature is breaking old records every year. In recent years, summer is only making us miss the winter chills. Due to excessive heat and humidity, the human body has to go through a lot of irritation and uneasiness which make people tired. Sweat and burning eyes are becoming constant companions during the summer season. One only wishes to jump into the pool and stay there for hours. But that cannot be a solution. Beat the summer heat with some brilliant yoga poses instead.

During the summer, due to lack of water in the body, when the outer temperature becomes higher than the inner body temperature, your body starts heating up inconveniently which is not at all good. Thus, you need to take special care of it. Yoga helps you to reduce the body temperature and cool you down. Yoga in Montreal is quite famous and thus making yoga a part of your daily routine will not be a tough task. Below are 5 yoga poses which one must follow this summer.

1. The Mountain Pose or Tadasana

Being the base of all other asanas, Tadasana or Mountain Pose is among the most powerful poses to beat the summer heat. This pose helps you in improving your overall body posture, creates harmony between your body and mind, reduces depression, makes you feel energetic and enhances the blood circulation in your body. While performing this pose, beginners might face a little difficulty in balancing, but with continuous practice one can easily master it. Do not go beyond your limits at the very beginning. Though it is among the basic yoga poses, while performing it, make sure that you hold the pose for at least 12 seconds. If you can extend the time of holding onto the pose, you can try that too.

2. The Camel Pose or Ustrasana

In order to make your body flexible and strong, Ustrasana or the Camel Pose is a perfect choice. It involves back bending that helps you to work on the flexibility. According to the best yoga studio in Montreal it is always better to perform the pose under expert guide to avoid any kind of unwanted injury. The Camel pose helps to improve your digestion process, heals the heart chakra, is an effective cure for constipation, detoxes the body and improves the blood circulation through your body. Thus, this pose is an all-in-one cure that not only helps in beating the heat but takes equal care of your body.

3. The Cobra Pose or Bhujangasana

Including a hard core backward ending, Bhujangasana is an essential part of the Surya Namaskar exercises. As the asana appears like the raised hood of a cobra, it is called the Cobra pose. One needs to perform it under proper guidance to avoid any kind of difficulty or injury while performing it. This is better if you perform this pose with an empty stomach because it will help you to expand the time of holding on the pose. The hard core back bend helps in strengthening the spine and makes it more flexible. It also enhances the blood circulation, releases stress, balances the body weight, opens up your lungs and heart and reduces the chances of asthma.

4. The Lion Pose or Simhasana

If a weak human body is prone to diseases, Simhasana is the ultimate destroyer of all. As the name depicts itself, this asana resembles a roaring lion. Being a quite comfortable pose, this asana can be performed by anyone. Simhasana reduces the stress and removes the tension from the chest. On the other side, this asana prevents the infection that can be harmful for your respiratory system. Unlike the other asanas, this improves the blood circulation in your face and keeps your face and eyes healthy. Also, you can get rid of bad breath by continuously performing this yoga pose.

5. The Corpse Pose or Savasana

Though apparently people take this yoga pose as the easiest one, but when it comes to completely turn off your mind while performing this asana, it turns out to be a difficult task. But the effectiveness of this asana is in completely detaching your mind from other things in the world. After a hard core yoga session, this yoga pose is a must to calm down your body and mind. It helps you to relax both your body and mind and refreshes your overall mental and physical health. It improves the blood circulation in every part of your body as you calmly rest your body on the floor for ten to twelve minutes. Once you are done with the pose, you can feel the calmness is your body. Also, keep it in your mind that you must not fall asleep while performing the pose.
