There Is Always A Risk Of Pests Entering Your Peterborough Home

If you live in Peterborough, you are just as much at risk of pests entering your home or garden as most towns in the East of England. The trouble is that you can live for years without being bothered by any wild creatures so you either think “it’ll never happen to me” or you don’t think about it at all.

Sure, we all get a fly or two in the home when we open the windows in the summer, but we don’t get a plague of them, and anyway we can always squirt them with a fly spray. We might have a squirrel or two visit the garden, but so what?

Hop in the car and go out into the countryside for a walk, and you might see all sorts of creatures. Not only could you see sheep in the fields, or cattle, you might see all sorts of different birds, depending where you are. In some places, such as parts of Scotland, you could even see an eagle. Certainly, you will see many types of birds, especially if you go looking for them and have an idea what the species look like. Go to the Isle of Sheppey, for example, and if you go to the north of the island you might see the elegant marsh harrier sweeping majestically across the skies.

What you probably won’t see out in the country are things like mice and rats. They are there, all right, but keep themselves well hidden. You may well see rabbits hopping about in a field and if you are lucky you could spot a hare. Go for a walk in the woods and you may see wood pigeons, crows, rooks, and the ubiquitous magpie. Some of these birds, like the magpie, look very beautiful, but to sheep farmers, magpies and crows are a nightmare. They will swoop down on lambs that have just been born and peck out their eyes and even their stomachs. They will attack a sheep in labour when she cannot defend herself and peck out her eyes too. As far as the farmers are concerned, they are a menace, and deserve to be shot. Yet we “townies” see a magpie and think how beautiful it is.

Certainly, one man’s beautiful creature is another man’s pest. If your garden is invaded by some of those lovely rabbits – or their relatives – that you saw in your walk in the country, you will very rapidly come to view them as a pest as well. When you have rabbits demolishing your carefully tended plants and flowers you will be wishing that you, too, had a shotgun licence!

Some people – children mostly – keep mice or rats as pets. You might even have done so yourself when you were younger. They can be cute little creatures. However, when they find their way into your home uninvited, suddenly they are pests. Yes, those same rats and mice that you may have loved as a child are invading your territory and need to be removed. Fast. So you need rat removal in Peterborough, rather than thinking how cute it is scurrying about in your loft or under your floorboards.

The problem for most of us is that we are happy to live and let live, just as long as wildlife stays where it should be – in the wild. Dogs and cats are domesticated animals and many of us invite them into our homes where they become great friends. Mice and rats who enter uninvited? Sorry, NO! Not at all. They are still animals, but they carry all sorts of diseases, which is why if rats decide to move in, we want rat removal in Peterborough as soon as possible. In the next half hour, if it can be done!

This is why pest control companies exist, in order to remove unwanted visitors from your home and garden. They don’t just deal with rats and mice, but can remove bed bugs, fleas, flies, beetles, moles, rabbits, foxes, badgers, seagulls, pigeons, magpies, ants, cockroaches, wasps, and a whole lot more creatures that may be fine out in the wild, but we class as pests when they invade our space.

Pestcotek is a pest control company that can easily take care of rat removal in Peterborough and across the whole of Lincolnshire. The company can also remove any other type of pest from your home or business, and provides a 24-hour service.
