Nissan is considered to be the most promising car manufacturing brand in Japan which has made great business relationship with other countries too. In the recent market, the rise of SUVs has become a phenomena and with this, Nissan has already launched its new model of pathfinder. An age-old heavy-duty sports utility vehicle concept since the mid-80s. In this world of rapid growth, we hardly get time to look after our car. Whatever the make or the model may be, the basic servicing are to be made on as soon as possible. Changing the brake pad is one of the most vital things to do for safety and better performance. Brake pads wear out eventually and if not taken care of it may cause potential harm and can be of high risk. To change brake pads for Nissan Pathfinder is easy if you have the right equipment and space.

The tools you need to change Nissan Pathfinder’s brake pads safely are as follows- a floor jack, two jack stands, two wheel chocks, a tire iron, a hex wrench set, twine, a flat-head screwdriver, a C-clamp and four pairs of replacement brake pads designed to fit the model year of your Pathfinder. After parking your car and creating space to slide the jack stands and balancing the car on it, the following steps you need to follow to change the brake pads of your pathfinder:-

While changing the front brakes:

Replace the pads one wheel at a time. To start, first remove the two bolts on the outside of the brake caliper, that is the bulky component fitted at the side of rotor. After removing the bolts you’ll be able to remove the caliper off the caliper mount.
Don’t let the caliper dangle by the fragile brake line, instead tie with the undercarriage.
Now you can pull the old brake pads and if they don’t come out from the mount use a flat-head screwdriver and give a push and pull them by hands. After removing the old pads, place two new Nissan pathfinder brake pads and tighten them with C-clamp after fixing the caliper.
You must keep tightening the clamp until the piston is fully depressed. Finally, after tightening, replace the caliper mount and set the lug nuts.

While changing rear brakes shift the chocks to the front wheels and slide and rise the car with help of floor jack and balance with the jack stands and repeat the process involved in changing front brakes.

Nissan Pathfinder is one of the heavy SUVs till manufactured by the company and it is based on the base model of their pick-up truck. For being a heavy car, changing brake pads is an issue if you don’t have the proper tools to fix the problem. The Nissan pathfinder brake pads have high consistent brake stability, the pads are designed to suit sports and performance car enthusiasts, they offer 20% increase in stopping power over competitive brake pads, no noise produced, low dust formula. Changing brakes is an investment, thus be careful to use always the original one.
