Popular Beaches You Can Explore With Cheap Flights To Goa

Goa may be India's smallest state in terms of total land area, but it gives its visitors a wide range of exciting experiences to savour during their time spent in this part of the world. This Indian state is a perfect combination of Indian and Portuguese cultures, which is reflected in some of the historic attractions. However, tourists mainly arrive in Goa for spending some quality time on its sandy beaches.
As the state has a long coastline touched by the majestic waves of the Arabian Sea, you’ll have many beaches worth visiting. You can book cheap flights to Goa and have greater savings, which can be utilised to shop for souvenirs while exploring them. Here are some of the popular beaches in North Goa:
1. Calangute Beach
This is an immensely popular beach of North Goa and is visited by plenty of tourists during the low season as well as the peak tourist season. Experienced swimmers would have a wonderful time in the waters of the Arabian Sea, but beginners have to be cautious about the unpredictable ...
... nature of the waves. Calangute has also been described as the 'Queen of Beaches' in India. You'll also find many hotels and restaurants located close to this beach.
2. Baga Beach
Compared to Calangute, this beach is quite secluded and offers quiet environs for visitors to have a wonderful time away from the hustle-bustle of crowds. The unique natural beauty of Baga Beach is characterised by the creek and a hill, where the Retreat House is located. Whether you're on this beach for spending some quiet moments under the sun or to try some extreme water sports, Baga is definitely a good choice.
3. Vagator Beach
Located at a distance of about 22 kilometres from Panaji, the capital city, this beach is the most photographed one in Goa. Vagator Beach is pretty much like a fascinating arc of sand, as it forms a bay curving from the headland to a hillock that houses the Chapora Fort. During the peak tourist season, Vagator is the most preferred spot for midnight parties.
4. Anjuna Beach
During the 1960s and early 1970s, this beach was a favourite among the hippies. In recent times, it is well-known for its soft whitish sand set against the backdrop of swaying coconut palms and an unusual rock formation. However, it is more popular for its weekly flea market, which offers the best bargains on footwear, jewellery, apparel, and other items.
5. Sinquerim Beach
One of the finest beaches in Goa, Sinquerim has world-class facilities for activities like fishing, water-skiing, scuba diving, parasailing, and wind-surfing. It has a long stretch of firm sands that extends to the Baga Beach, giving you a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a long walk. This beach is also popular for its 17th-century fort built by the Portuguese, called Fort Aguada.
6. Candolim Beach
While travelling from the city of Panaji, this is the first beach you'll come across on the way. You'll also find a few hotels with restaurants while visiting Candolim. It is like a gateway to some of the other popular beaches and has some excellent facilities for water-skiing, parasailing, and other water sports.
