The Crucial Role Of Cylinder Liner And Piston Pin
A piston is an engine part which is cylindrical and enables to produce force by sliding back and forth within the cylinder bore at the time of combustion process. A piston ring is a split ring which can expand to make a seal between the cylinder wall and piston. These types of rings are made by using cast iron. The reason is that cast iron is able to keep the integrity of its actual shape under load, heat and other active forces.
Piston rings help in conduction of heat from the combustion chamber to cylinder wall, sealing the combustion chamber and returning oil to the crankcase. The configuration and size of the piston rings are different according to the cylinder material and design of the engine.

• Cylinder liner helps to prevent combustion and compression of gas from escaping outside. Escaping of excess heat to the outside is harmful to other parts of an engine which can lead to a breakdown. Moreover, a fixed amount of heat is essential for the proper functioning of piston rings and piston. If the heat escapes outside, a temperature dis-balance will be created and this will create a problem in the piston.
• An engine can fail due to an excess amount of heat. So, cylinder liners play an important role to reduce this excess heat by transferring it to another unit. Generally, excess heat is transmitted to the coolant to decrease the heat for the proper functioning of the engine.
It transfers the total generated power by the combustion procedure from the piston through the linked rod to the crankshaft. Piston pin
links the connecting rod and piston and can withstand high loads for changing directions. Generally, it is made up of nitrated steel or case-hardening with the polished surface and smooth ground. It is important to optimize a fixed load bearing power of pins due to withstand the producing loads for combustion procedure and continuous increasing of firing pressure.

They can be bent in an oval-shaped and sheared for the oscillating forces of the mass inertia forces and the ignition pressure in the opposite direction.
