LPG or Liquefied Petroleum Gas is an ideal mixture of butane and propane, which has proved itself as no less a breakthrough innovation for heating and lighting needs of residential and commercial areas. LPG in India has gained immense popularity because of its optimum flammability ranging between 2-10% coupled with high ignition temperature.
Advantages of LPG:
Slowly and steadily, LPG has replaced traditional and conventional sources of energy due to its widespread usage along with reduced pollution. From cooking to cutting metals to food processing and fabrication, LPG has made a space for itself everywhere. It has emerged as a green substitute of otherwise popular diesel and petrol, which is friendly towards Mother Earth in terms of release of toxic pollutants in the atmosphere.
What adds the cherry on the cake is its portability and ease of storage. Use of LPG in India not only saves on the monthly bill but is a healthier alternative to women cooking in the kitchen. From being used in the kitchen to being popular for industrial usage, LPG has taken the road less travelled to make a distinct identity for itself in all domains and sector.
Main uses of LPG:
A popular variant of LPG in industrial usage is Automotive LPG or Autogas, which is in practice in more than 100 countries. LPG is safe to use and consume in high pressure and can be easily loaded in vehicle storage tanks. Being free from any contaminant, LPG can easily burn in a clean manner to provide heat and energy. With low carbon settlement in the vehicle engine, LPG increases shelf life of engines. End Users prefer Autogas for its strict saving in fuel bill, which may go as high as 30%.
The aerosol is yet another successful usage of LPG, which has done great wonders in the food industry, lubrication product, absorbents, etc. The aerosol is a suitable midpoint between solid particles and fine liquid which can be released in the form of a spray, as propellant gas.
However, layman only identifies LPG in the kitchen, which till date continues to enjoy top slot in terms of demand and popularity. Great initiatives have been done in the past to replace local fuel such as Gobber Bag, Wood, etc with LPG, which is more efficient, clean, and safe for nearby participants.
