Manuel Antonio is a very small town being only 5 miles long and most Manuel Antonio luxury rentals are situated within 1-2 miles from the park. No need to rent a car as some Park tour companies will pick you up at your Villa or you can take our public bus system that operates every 20 minutes and only costs .75 cents. Taxis are as abundant as New York City so it is very easy to get around.

Plan a trip to Manuel Antonio Park early:

To preserve the national park from being jam-packed by tourists, the Costa Rican Government has limited entry to the park to just six hundred travelers on weekdays & eight hundred on weekends.

Therefore, it is recommended to go to the park early in order to avoid being stuck at the gate. Even if you’re touring at some point in the low tourist season, keep in mind that animals within the park are generally much more active during the morning hour than the afternoon.

Spend a whole day inside the park:

With a lot of trails, and things to do, the park is an excellent place to spend the majority of your day. There are 3 beaches inside the park so be sure to bring or wear your swimwear and a towel as one of the nicest beaches in Costa Rica is in the park. It is important to note that there are no shops but they do have a small café and it is forbidden to bring food inside the park.

Spend at least 5-7 days in Manuel Antonio:

I don’t say 5-7 days inside the park. The fact is, tourists can explore everything inside the park in just one day.

While a day at the park is enough to see everything, you will soon discover that there’re so many activities and tours outside of the park to enjoy. Actually, out of 27 various types of tours available in Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio offers 24 of them. All within close proximity to Manuel Antonio.

Check out Vacation Buggy:

You’ll probably be tired after a trip to the national park & will wish to spend a day unwinding and seeing the culture of Costa Rica as well as incredible waterfalls. Vacation Buggy is one of the most popular tours available and they take you in very custom Jeeps (Safari style), through quaint towns to the middle of the rainforest where you end up at a private reserve. The reserve has one of the longest suspension bridges in the area, 6 waterfalls that all cascade to a central point and offers some of the best beauty that Costa Rica has to offer.
