New York City has many things in store for its tourists. Also called the City of New York or New York City and abbreviated as NYC, it is located at the New York state's southern tip. It is home to an ethnically and linguistically diverse population, which has contributed immensely towards its cosmopolitan environment. It has also been ranked as the world's most photographed city by many sources over the years. During your holiday spent in this city, you'll get the opportunity to explore its popular attractions.

When you compare New York holidays offered by many of the tour operators, you'll have a variety of choices in packages. Upon booking the cheapest among them, you can have greater savings to be utilised for exploring well-known attractions in the city. One of them is Rockefeller Center, which is a large complex comprising 19 commercial buildings and spread across a vast area of 22 acres. It is located between 48th and 51st Streets. The complex has retained its 14 original buildings, while the five international-style buildings were built later. In the late 20th century, Rockefeller Center was declared as a New York City landmark and a National Historic Landmark.

The savings made on cheap New York holidays would allow you to explore this magnificent complex, which is a combination of a standalone building and two complexes. All of the international-style towers were constructed after the mid-20th century. The 14 structures built earlier were designed by Associated Architects. In the year 1920, Owen D Young, the chairman of General Electric had come up with a suggestion that the offices of Radio Corporation of America (RCA) be combined into a single location. The original 14 buildings were built in the Art Deco style during the 1930s. One building located across 51st Street was completed in the year 1947.

During your New York holidays, you can explore 30 Rockefeller Plaza, which is the 70-storey centrepiece of Rockefeller Center. It is rarely missed by the tourists exploring this massive shopping and entertainment complex. The most prominent attraction of this building is the 'Top of the Rock Observation Deck'. It is popularly called 'The Deck' and covers the 67th, 69th, and 70th floors. You can enjoy spectacular views during the day or night from the indoor and outdoor viewing spaces. It is advisable to book a ticket to this observation deck in advance as there is a heavy rush for tickets, especially during the peak season.

One of the most popular things to do upon visiting the complex during winters is skating. The skating rink at the base of Rockefeller Plaza gives children as well as adults the chance to have loads of fun. A big Christmas tree is put up in front of the skating rink after Thanksgiving and the entire complex is lit up for the entire holiday season. Many individuals visit the city of New York in the month of December just to witness these awe-inspiring illuminations. Another interesting attraction in this complex is the bronze sculpture of the Greek mythological deity, Atlas.
