Masjid Al-Buraq is located on the south-west corner of the Al-Aqsa compound. It is believed that this is the place where tied the Buraq (the riding animal upon which he rode during the night of Ascension). It is a lesser thin mosque with 38 steps down. Its entering is located in the western walkway of Al-Aqsa. It is located on the left side of people coming from Morocco Gate through and it opens on Friday mornings and on some occasions. If you want to visit such a holy mosque then just grasp cheap packages to umrah and moved towards Al-Buraq Mosque after performing Umrah.

It is narrated on the authority of Anas bin Malik (RA) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “I was taken al-Buraq who is an animal white and long, larger than a donkey but smaller than a mule, who would place his hoof a distance equal to the range of vision. I rode on it and reached Bayt al-Maqdis. I chained it to the ring used by the prophets. I entered the mosque and prayed two rak’ahs in it.

Then I was taken in heaven. And (the door of the heaven) was opened for us and meanwhile, we saw Adam (As). He welcomed me and prayed for my good. Then we climbed to the second heaven and welcomed by ‘Isa bin Maryam and Yahya bin Zakriya (AS). Then I was taken to the third heaven and I met Yusuf (AS) who welcomed me and prayed for my welfare.

Then we ascended to the fourth heaven where I met Idris (AS) who welcomed me and prayed for my well-being. (About him) Allah, the Glorious and the Magnificent, says:” We elevated him (Idris) to the high position” [19: 57]. Then we entered the fifth heaven and I met Haroon (AS) who welcomed me prayed for my well-being. Then I was taken to the sixth heaven and met Musa (AS) who welcomed me and prayed for my well-being. Then I was taken up to the seventh heaven and I met Ibrahim (AS) reclining against the Bait-ul-Ma’mur and there enter into it 70,000 angels every day, never to visit (this place) again.”

Then I was visited Sidrat-ul-Muntaha whose leaves were like elephant’s ears and its fruits were like big ceramic containers. And when it was covered by the Command of Allah, it endured such a variation that none amongst the creation has the power to praise its beauty.”

Then Allah granted me fifty prayers every day and night. Then I went down to Musa (AS) and he asked what your Lord had enjoined upon your Ummah? I said: Fifty prayers. He suggested me that he should return to thy Lord and beg for a reduction in Salah (prayers), for his people would not be able to bear that burden as he had put to test the Children of Israel and had tried them (and found them too weak to bear such a heavy burden). The Prophet (ﷺ) said: I went back to my Lord and requested My Lord to make things lighter for his Ummah. Allah, the Exalted reduced five prayers for me. I went down to Musa (AS) and told him that Allah-Almighty had reduced five (prayers) for his people. Musa (AS) said: “Certainly, thy Ummah shall not be able to bear this burden; return to thy Lord and ask Him to make things lighter”. But this time I could not beg for decreasing the Salah. So, Allah (SWT) granted the reward of fifty prayers instead of five.
