The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5 vulnerability and rumors have begun to spread, and we may be a few months away from the announcement of the new tablet. Before that day, we wanted to keep track of all the information we heard and all our hopes and expectations for the future Galaxy Tab S5.

Less than a year since Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab S4, it may be too early to start using the Galaxy Tab S5. To stop us, Samsung did launch a more budget-conscious Galaxy Tab S5e in February, although it took more than two months for the new tablet to actually be released in stores.

It's also worth noting that the Galaxy Tab S5e is not the full Galaxy Tab S5 we are looking for. It offers a slimmer, lighter design that can be configured with up to 6GB of RAM, but it doesn't have a S Pen and uses a mid-range chipset. This may be why the cost of the Galaxy Tab S4 is still more than 50% higher than the Galaxy Tab S5e.

Therefore, since the Galaxy Tab S5e is not the true successor of the Tab S4, we hope to see the throne of the Tab S family from the real heirs.

Cut Into The Topic

• What is it? Samsung's next generation high-end Android tablet
• When is it coming out? May be August 2019
•how much is the cost? May exceed the Tab S4's $650 (£599) launch price

Price And Release Date

We can only continue in this department, but history can be a good indicator. The Galaxy Tab S4 was launched in August 2018 with the Galaxy Note 9. Therefore, this new tablet may launch a new phone again.

We expect Galaxy Note 10 to be launched in August, so the Galaxy Tab S5 is expected to be launched in August. In terms of price, the Tab S5 may be launched at least on the $650 (£599) course. This is the launch price of the Galaxy Tab S4. However, if Samsung includes some of the upgrades we hope to see in the Galaxy Tab S5, the price may rise quite a bit.

Some Screen Upgrades

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S4 does upgrade the display from the Tab S3, but the Tab S5 can go a step further.

The Tab S4 features a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560x1600. For the front of the Galaxy Tab S5e, Samsung managed to fit the same 10.5-inch display of the Galaxy Tab S4 into a smaller frame. This makes them very clear, and in this respect, the Galaxy Tab S5 does not require any improvements and still provides excellent visual clarity.

However, even with the newly reduced border on the Galaxy Tab S5e, there are still quite a few unnecessary black borders on the 2018 tablet, not Samsung's new high-end smartphone.

With the Galaxy Tab S5, it's exciting to see more screen fill space. In theory, Samsung can install a 11.5-inch display in the same form factor as the Galaxy Tab S5e, leaving almost no borders.

The unblanched Galaxy Tab S5 also helps to solve one of our main complaints about the Tab S5e, its flat design. Moreover, although Samsung is also using the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus screen fingerprint scanners, it is good to see it.

Please Support The New HDR Standard

While this is still technically a problem with the screen (to some extent), we believe that the high dynamic range of the Galaxy Tab series should be explained more clearly.

Samsung did not provide much detail when using HDR on a tablet. Of course, they have a sharp Super AMOLED display that can show great visual effects, but as more and more content gets HDR processing, it is clear that Samsung is fully committed to the new HDR standard on its largest OLED display. a good thing.

The Galaxy Tab S4 has a Samsung screen labeled "HDR-ready", while the Tab S3 product page lists HDR support, but only for videos on Amazon apps. The Galaxy Tab S5e with the same display as the S4 may also be ready for HDR, but this is not clear to the user.

If you go to the main product page of Tab S5e, you will not see any display that mentions HDR, and Tab S4 does not say anything that can be used for HDR. At the same time, if you look at the product page of Samsung's latest mobile phone, you will see that all four models have a clear HDR10+ certification.

The Galaxy Tab S5's large tablet display will make it an ideal platform for content consumption, and official support for HDR HDR + + even new standards such as Dolby Vision will be an excellent improvement. If support is not limited to just a few applications, it's even better.

The Latest Qualcomm Chipset

We have seen a vulnerability suggesting that the Galaxy Tab S5 will receive the Snapdragon 855 chipset, powering the new Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Fold. This is the hope that the rumor is true.

When the Galaxy Tab S4 was introduced, it didn't get the latest chipset at the time, but instead chose Snapdragon 835 instead of Snapdragon 845. For tablets that can be used to improve productivity, it's not exciting to see the outdated chipset, it's just It means everything will be slower. Also, the Galaxy Tab S5e doesn't even get a high-end chipset, while Samsung uses a mid-range Snapdragon 670.

So for the Galaxy Tab S5, we want the Snapdragon 855 to power all products. Moreover, in the form of a tablet, an advanced cooling solution may be used to help the CPU run faster than the mobile phone, perhaps through overclocking of the Asus ROG mobile phone. Top processing with 8GB of RAM is also helpful for multitasking.

The Snapdragon 855 chipset will also open the door to many other features, such as in-screen fingerprint scanners, HDR10 video capture, HDR10+ video playback, 10-bit color and support for dual 4K external displays.

Return of S Pen and Dex

We absolutely hope to see the Galaxy Tab S5 have two features.

Samsung's S Pen is the flagship product of the tablet family, but it is excluded from the Galaxy Tab S5e. The tablet is not only included when the tablet is purchased, but is not supported by users who purchased the tablet separately.

For the Galaxy Tab S5, we believe that S Pen will have some new booms. The Galaxy Tab S4 is upgraded to the S Pen with the Galaxy Note 9. If the Galaxy Tab S5 is indeed launched with the Galaxy Note 10, they may introduce more S Pen upgrades, just like the built-in camera.

We also expect Samsung's Dex feature to return with the Tab S5. It is also excluded from the Tab S5e, but for higher-end devices like the Galaxy Tab S5, Samsung should offer a desktop-like Dex experience for users who want to be more productive on their tablets.

Wireless Powershare

The Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus have quite a large smartphone battery, so Samsung introduced Huawei's first great feature: the ability to wirelessly share mobile phone batteries. Samsung called it Wireless PowerShare.

Given that the Galaxy Tab S5 will have a much larger battery than a Samsung phone, it makes sense to provide the same functionality here. This will make the Tab S5 a tablet and mobile wireless battery pack.

5G And Wi-Fi 6

The connection is now undergoing some major changes, and in this regard it allows customers to get some future evidence from their advanced tablets.

Wi-Fi 6 is a new connectivity standard that supports higher performance, faster speeds and more connected devices. As the network becomes more crowded, only the Tab S5 can prepare for the latest network standards.

In this regard, 5G may also be a smart optional feature, even if only Samsung gets the 'first 5G tablet' bragging right. Not everyone needs to use 5G in 2019 or even 2020, but as mobile operators introduce new technologies, you may benefit from extra bandwidth - ultimately.

If Samsung includes the Snapdragon 855 chipset, it may also include a 5G modem. As with most other tablets, adding a cellular connection option tends to increase the price, and the 5G option can be quite large compared to a 4G LTE-only connection. However, it may be worthwhile for some people.
