India’s immense diversity in culture and splendid beauty in nature make this a mesmerizing travel destination topping many travellers’ bucket lists. Although Indians are known for their extremely hospitable nature, still it is always advisable to avoid doing the following things during your Indian holiday to make it hassle-free and safe. Best tour packages in India comes with these unwritten rules.

Don’t wear skimpy or revealing clothes
Indians are majorly conservative by nature and they love to follow their social customs even compromising on the comfort part. It doesn’t matter, if it is hot and humid outside, people keep themselves covered under clothes. Although decent western wears have now taken the front seat in Indian fashion scene but that doesn’t mean you are free to wear skimpy dresses in public. Revealing too much skin is frowned upon in India. Beaches are perfect to wear bikini or short dresses but otherwise avoid wearing them while enjoying travel packages in India.

Don’t get offended by personal questions
Indians are known for paying little or no attention to respect someone’s privacy or personal space. During your travel package in India, you are surely going to face some randomly popped personal questions regarding your family, children, age and marital status particularly if you are travelling with your partner. You might find such acts intrusive but Indians consider these questions as ways to develop ‘bond’ with other people. For best tour packages in India, you have to face such little annoying questions (of course with no harm) without getting offended.

Mind your feet
During your travel package in India, you will come to know about several strange social etiquettes and how to use your feet is one them. Other than playing football and walking, Indians don’t use their feet much as they are considered the inferior part of the body. While travelling in India particularly via public transport, be careful with moving your feet. If your feet touch someone body accidentally, apologize for this immediately. Touching or pushing something with your feet is considered disrespectful and rude among Indians.

Don’t get involved in political or religious conversations
Religion and politics are everywhere in India. Local people talk about them all the time but as an outsider, you should never engage yourself in such controversial topics. Although India is a secular nation but several unpleasant incidents have been recorded in past that erupted from such sensitive topics. Keep your political belief and religious faith to yourself and don’t dare to hurt others’ with your harsh comment or disrespectful gesture.

Don’t give/take things with left hands
In India, left hand is considered to be “not clean” or “dirty” because people clean up after doing their washroom job with left hands. If you are visiting a temple, never accept Prasad (food offered to deity in the temple) or offer your alms with left hand. Always use your right hand to eat. If you are a left-handed person by nature, then you have to practice using your right hand a little more before visiting India.
