Makalu Base Camp

Makalu Base Camp Trekking route lies in the area of Makalu Barun National Park in the heart of Eastern part of Nepal. It is one of the most popular trekking destinations among solitary trekkers. Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world at 8,485. It is located in the Mahalangur Himalayas 19 km southeast of Mount Everest, on the border between Nepal and China. Makalu Base Camp Trekking is a challenging and an outstanding and the trek up to Makalu Base Camp Trip is one of the most remote and unfrequented trekking. The best time to schedule Makalu trekking is between September-November and March-May. The number of population in Makalu is around 32000, Various castes and ethnic groups from this population are: Sherpas, Gurung, Newar Tamang, Magar, Brahmins and Chhetris.
ITINERERY
Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu and Transfer to 3 Star Hotel
Day 02: Sightseeing at Kathmandu(heritage sites, Temples, Darbar Square etc.)
Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingta and drive to Khadbari (1030 m)
Day 04: Trek from Khadbari to Chichira (1830 m)
Day 05: Trek from Chichira to Num (1490 m)
Day 06: Trek from Num to Seduwa (1460 m)
Day 07: Trek from Seduwa to Tashigaon (2070 m)
Day 08: Trek from Tashigaon to Kauma Danda (3470 m)
Day 09: Trek from Kauma Danda to Mumbuk (3570 m) via Kauma La (3603 m), Tutu La (4125 m) and Keke La (4170m)
Day 10: Trek from Mumbuk to Nehe Kharka (3700 m)
Day 11: Trek from Nehe Kharka to Shersong (4615 m)
Day 12: Trek from Shersong to Makalu Base Camp (4800 m)
Day 13: Rest at Makalu Base Camp – For Acclimatization & Exploration.
Day 14: Trek from Makalu Base Camp to Swiss Base Camp (5150 m)
Day 15: Trek to Sherpani Col Base Camp (5700 m)
Day 16: Acclimatization at Sherpani Col Base Camp.
Day 17: Cross Sherpani Col (6180 m) to Baruntse Base Camp
Day 18: Cross West Col (6100 m) and trek to Amphu Labsta Base Camp (5400 m)
Day 19: Cross Amphu Labsta Pass (5850 m) and trek to Chhukung (4730 m)
Day 20: Trek from Chhukung to Tyangboche (3867 m)
Day 21: Trek from Tyangboche to Namche bazaar (3440 m)
Day 22: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2800 m)
Day 23: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
Day 24: Free day at Kathmandu
Day 25: Transfer to International Airport for departure
