How Ngos Have Benefitted The Field Of Education

Education is the most important field a country must focus on, as only by educating its youth can the nation progress towards a brighter, safer and wealthier future. India has not completely eliminated the vices of poverty and illiteracy even though 71 years have passed by since Independence. This is mainly due to the lack of focus on the education system where the syllabi are outdated and teachers aren’t given the freedom to inspire their students to be more creative and think outside the box. In such circumstances, the biggest difference so far has been made by some hard-working NGOs. Their focus is not just on villages, but also on big cities where illiteracy rates are high, for example, you can find several NGOs working for education in Ahmedabad. Let’s take a look at the difference made by these selfless organizations.

NGOs have made a big impact on the enrollment rates of children in parts of the nation where education isn’t given much of a priority. They have also simultaneously combated child labor which, even though has been outlawed, is still carried out in several places. NGOs have also rallied up various young activists to join them in their fight against illiteracy. This is especially prevalent in the NGO working for education in Vastrapur. Recently, an NGO teamed up with the You Tuber PewDiePie and raised over 1.71 crores for stopping child labor and sending those kids to school instead.

A major cause for illiteracy in the nation isthat most parents aren’t aware of the importance of education. To fix this, NGOs have been working to make parents in villages and other rural parts of the nation aware of the dangers of leaving their children uneducated. They represented their opinions in a manner that helped the people understand them and accept them without feeling violated. This has greatly benefited the children in these regions as the parents started sending their children to school in hopes of them securing good and high-paying jobs.

Focus on Skills
As mentioned earlier, our education system is considered poor and it doesn’t do much for the children studying through it for twelve years of their lives. A majority of important skills are left out and this makes it harder for even the educated, yet unskilled youth to find work in the exceedingly competitive contemporary work environment. To combat this, several NGOs have hosted skill building classes for secondary school and college students. The focus of these NGOs hasn’t been solely on children as some NGOs in Delhi have hosted free sessions to teach both children and adults to read and write. Educating adults helps them understand the value of education and leads them to focus more on the education of their children. If you have a skill to share, you can sign up to volunteer with any NGO working for education in Ahmedabad and do your part in helping the nation progress forward.

As you can see above, NGOs have worked more for the nation’s education than any other organization, and have made a huge impact on the system. By educating both parents and children alike, they have helped ensure a brighter, more literate future for the nation.
