We often ignore the health of our hair until they start falling severely. With the busy schedule, a number of people limit the time they devote to hair care. Spotting the sign of hair damage early can save you from taking expensive scalp and hair treatments.

Here are five ways to identify and fix damaged hair

1.Split Ends - The ends of the hair are the oldest part of your mane. They have experienced more harsh chemicals and environmental damage than ones close to your roots. When not taken proper care the ends become porous to the external substances. Excess combing can divide them into two creating split ends. Dry hair is more vulnerable to splitting. Therefore, moisturizing the hair is the best measure for protecting them from the split end.

Trimming your hair is the only solution to eliminate the split ends. It saves the hair above the end from getting damaged. People who have dry and curly hair should massage their hair ends with organic hair oil on a daily basis.

Instead of combing your hair from up to down, start at the bottom. Once you have untangled the lower portion, you ...
... can comb the hair from the roots.

2. Loss of Elasticity
The hair is made of proteins and lipids. Healthy hair is bouncy and stretchable. High-quality hair when damp can stretch up to 50 % of the original length. Dry hair will stretch only up to 20%. The hair after getting damage to lose their elasticity and break when pulled.

To test the elasticity of your hair, take a wet strand. With a light, pressure stretches it from both the ends. If on releasing it returns to the normal length, your hair is in good condition.

Damaged hair is fragile, they will break on being stretched. Elasticity is also a sign of strong hair. Apply protein pack on weekly to restore the elastic nature of your hair. Deep moisturizing with Natural Hair Oil will provide the nutrients hair need, repairing the damage.

3. Highly Porous

Straightening irons, curling rods, chemical dyes, hair perming and straightening lotions can make the hair shaft porous. The regular usage of chemicals on the tresse opens the cuticles. The inner layers of the hair than absorb anything that you apply directly. You will notice porous hair absorb the chemicals much quicker than the normal hair. It is the reason why damaged hair loses the dyes in a shorter time.

The styling products such as gels, spray, mousse are a strict no. They contain chemicals which make your hair behave like a sponge. Combing wet hair and styling them using heat are the two major factor that causes porous hair. Always come only when your hair is dry.

To maintain the pH level of the hair use a mixture of apple vinegar cider and pure aloe vera extracts.

Dryness, Breakage and no moisture

Healthy hair is fluffy, lustrous and retains moisture. Damaged hair becomes dull, dry and brittle. The hair stops absorbing oil are in the worst condition.

Consider these questions
Do you protect your hair with a scare/ hat when you go outside? If not, start wearing one. The sun’s UV rays can whiten and dry your hair.

While sleeping, do you comb your hair at the back and make a ponytail? Leaving your hair open at the time you sleep, can tangle them.

Are you changing the pillow covers frequently? Use a satin or silk cover for your pillow. For extra protection, you can cover the hair with a thin satin bonnet.

Incorporate the Ayurvedic Hair Oil in your daily regimen.
