HTC's new flagship smartphone is an attractive device with excellent battery life and a unique software feature

HTC launched the new flagship smartphone HTC 10, which offers a new design, two-day battery life and the option to replace the traditional Android application grid with a more "freestyle" layout.

The HTC 10 features a one-piece metal design with angled chamfered edges for capturing light. The front of the phone is made of a piece of glass with an embedded button that can be used as a fingerprint reader.

The 5.2-inch screen is made of a "film-grade" LCD panel, and HTC claims it looks almost as vivid as an AMOLED display, albeit at a much cheaper price. It is faster and more responsive than previous displays.

Traditionally these cameras have been HTC's weaknesses in smartphones and have undergone major upgrades with 12MP rear lenses and 5 megapixel front lenses.

However, it made some modifications. For example, it attempts to simplify the user experience by removing duplicate applications created by Google or HTC.

This means that for each application, HTC has chosen whether to offer Google Android version or custom HTC version and has deleted the other one.

For example, HTC has decided that its camera app is better than Google, so it has removed Google's camera app, but it has chosen Google Photos instead of its own gallery app.

It also replaced Gmail with its own mail app and replaced Google's Messenger with its own mail app - although Google's version can still be downloaded from the Google Play store.

HTC 10 also offers the option to switch to Freestyle mode, which replaces the familiar Android app grid with a background and allows you to place icons or stickers anywhere on the screen.

These icons and stickers trigger different apps to open, so in the image of the country landscape, click on the leaf icon to open the browser and click on the hot air balloon sticker to trigger Facebook.
Icons and stickers can be tagged or unmarked, so you can even create "secret" triggers for different apps that only you know.

HTC 10 is available in carbon grey, silver and gold and will be available in Europe starting in May. Pricing has not been announced.

It comes with a case that allows you to use your phone in the Ice View, which means you can perform basic functions such as checking time, reading messages, answering calls and launching the camera app without opening the case.

Early Judgment

The HTC 10 is a beautifully designed device based on the company's previous design success. The angle design is very attractive, but if I honestly, I prefer the curves and brushed metal effects of the HTC One M9 and M8.
