The vinyasa flow style of yoga is an advanced form of yoga. If practiced properly, it can help one lose oodles of weight. Vinyasa comprises of sun salutations that are practiced so fast that your heart rate increases and you start burning calories. Some of the popular asanas taught in Vinyasa style of yoga include the following:

Parvatasana or Downward Dog Pose: In this form, you have to stand on your hands and legs on the yoga mat. Now exhale and push the floor away from your body. Push your body up while you are on all your fours so that a “V” pose is achieved. Now straighten your legs so that you can take your thighs and knees back while your spine is straight. Stay in this position for five breaths before you start breathing again.
Kumbhakasana or Plank Position: in this posture you will have to put pressure on your arms while your torso is perpendicular to the floor. Balance it out by putting the body pressure on your toes as well. You will feel that your stomach muscles have tightened. Now hold this position for 5 minutes without breathing before you get back to your normal position.
Bhujanga Asana or Cobra Pose: in this form you need to place your palms on the mat right below your shoulders so that you can lift your chest up by straightening your arms. Keep in this position for 5 minutes while breathing normally. You will feel a pressure on your stomach. This is normal.
