When spouses settle for lump sum alimony, the recipient cannot / will not be allowed to claim further support in the future.

Rehabilitative alimony - This is one of the spousal support options in a divorce where one spouse funds the education or work related program of another spouse till the time he / she is prepared to bear their own expenses.

Reimbursement - Reimbursement alimony refers to the repayment of any expenses that one spouse may have incurred to support the other that directly contributed to the latter earning more income than the former.
