Planning
I have since been introduced and oriented to the organization. The next thing is starting the internship and train as a business analyst in finance. However, I need some light and comprehensive training to enable me to fit and start well. In this iteration, I will discover the main business objectives of the organization in which I will be undertaking the internship and training as a business analyst in finance. While trying to learn and understand this element, I will require the input of the experts from the organization. Another item in the iteration will be formulating the business analysis plan. This activity might prove to be difficult. Therefore, I will need to be guided through so that I ensure that I have grasped that I will be required to grasp. Everything in this iteration will be geared towards ensuring that I have comprehensively learned and understood everything needed according to (Hass et al., 2007).
I will not be in a position to completely do this without having extensive and detailed preparation. Therefore, in doing this, I will ensure that I have extensively prepared in such a way that I will be able to understand and grasp knowledge that will be transmitted to me and which I will be required to understand. Among the preparation is ensuring that I have prepared a list of questions about business analyst in finance that I will ask during the training. I will not get these questions without going through some sources such as books and journals. Additionally, I will search information about business analyst in finance from the Internet in preparation for the training. Additionally, besides trying to have an understanding of training, the purpose of the reading and understanding will be trying to get some of the areas through which I will be taken during training.
Action
I was now oriented and introduced to the company. The next big thing was training and gaining experience as a business analyst in finance. Having been given the schedule for training, I wanted to prepare as thoroughly as possible. Therefore, I visited the library from where I picked relevant journals and books on business analysis in finance. Most of them had information that I could easily understand. However, there were a lot of questions that I wanted clarification on because they complicated and used terms that I could not understand in the way I wanted. I also went on the Internet where I found more information about business analyst in finance. I also got several other questions which I added to the list (Hass et al., 2007).
On the day I was to be trained, I arrived at the organization very early. This was to ensure that I was going to be there when the training started. The training started at 9.00 am. We were assigned an expert in business analysis in finance, Mr. Sudhakar, who seemed to understand so much. As a center of business analysis, Mr. Sudhakar made us understand the main business objectives of the organization as far as business analysis in finance is concerned. He highlighted some areas which we had never known before and which we needed more explanations on. Although it took a lot of time, he ensured that we understood everything there was to understand.
In the day that followed we were assigned another expert from the organization, Mrs. Grant who was also an expert in business analysis in finance. She took us through training while ensuring that we formulated business analysis plan for the organization. At the completion of the training, I approached both Mrs. Grant and Mr. Sudhakar from whom I wanted clarification and answer to the questions I had gathered. They happily tackled the questions together and wished me good in the internship (David et al., 2011).
Observation
There is no better way of gaining practical skills as a business analyst in finance than through training. While that is the case, it requires experts take someone through such training similar to what happened during the iteration. The way in which the training was conducted moved us from fundamentals of business analyst in finance to user requirements which were successful given that it was our first time to have encountered such information. The meetings with the two business analyst experts, Mrs. Grant and Mr. Sudhakar, were successful. From the meetings we got the real-world, significantly important skills that we needed if we were to succeed in business analysis activities throughout the internship. There was no better way of enhancing our understanding than being trained by experts.
According to the observations, Mrs. Grant and Mr. Sudhakar were a few of the business analysis experts the organization had. This was a show that the organization was a center of excellence as far as business analysis in finance was concerned. Additionally, the organization was committed to ensuring that we were trained by the best the organization could afford. And judging by my level of understanding, I could tell that Mrs. Grant and Mr. Sudhakar were some of the greatest the organization had.
The organization was committed to ensuring that we were going to succeed. However, according to what I observed, there was a need for us to put effort into what we were doing. Had I not thoroughly prepared, I would not have enjoyed as much success as I did. Additionally, ensuring that I had a set of questions that I was going to ask ensured that the outcomes of the two sessions were successful. Asking for clarification also enabled me to be comprehensive understand the essence of the training.
Reflection
At the end of the training, I had learned so much that I would not have learned without conducting the training. The training started with a preparation which was important given that I wanted to succeed as a business analyst in finance. Although I knew that I was going to succeed, I would not have succeeded if I did not the first prepare in the way I wanted. This preparation also gave me an understanding of what the training was going to entails. Therefore, I gained several questions which I asked the experts for clarification. Through the training, I was able to understand the main business objectives of the organization. This understanding enabled me to reflect the way in which I was going to prepare and gain as much as possible from the iteration and the two experts, Mrs. Grant and Mr. Sudhakar. Another highlight of the success is that I learned ways of formulating business analysis plan. I also attribute my success in this to the preparation I took before actual training and the expertise of Mrs. Grant and Mr. Sudhakar.
We covered two main topics during the training which gave me a foundation on which I was going to build my skills and understanding of business analyst in finance. It was very helpful to learn from two business analysis experts and for acquiring the foundation I needed if I was going to succeed. I also learned how to learn on my own and prepare some the questions I needed to be clarified on. These are some of the things which gave me confidence and thought that I was going to succeed in the internship. Although I gained a considerable amount of success, the iteration was not without some instances of failure. I would have learned more had the company organized for more experts to talk to us and take us through the iteration. Additionally, we would have succeeded more if there more days set aside for the iteration and asking as many questions as possible (Sonteya & Seymour, 2012).
