Total Articles: 5
As an individual immigrating to Australia, you might have already lined up the set of activities to pursue in Australia. Being the sixth largest country in the world, Australia is the perfect amalgam of natural wonders, diverse traditions, cultures, tourist places, amazing wildlife and much more. This diverse mix of features in a country where England fits in six times, you must be curious to know more about the etiquette of the country rather than going for the key attractions of the place in the first place. Here is a guidebook for knowing the things you should abstain from while looking for Australia immigration.
Put another shrimp on the barbie
The expression dates back to early 1984 where Paul Hogan used it in one of the ads run by Australian Tourism Commission for audiences in the United States. There is nothing much Hogan could do rather than shoot up the promotion of Australia, which was a destination relatively unknown in the US. But the phrase went wrong as people in Australia love to call shrimp as prawns. Moreover, prawns happened to be one of the favorite food of people in Australia as well. So from wherever you are hailing to Australia, make sure to use prawns, not shrimps!
Beach Safety Sign Boards
There is no doubt that beaches in Australia are a treat to watch and experience. The clear charming blue waters urge everyone to take a quick dip in it. But these beaches are equally dangerous and beach safety instructions should be strictly followed. Every year several people are injured in beaches due to the negligence of these signboards regarding safety from dangerous aquatic animals. However, the major beach hazard in Australian beaches is rip currents. So be careful with these signboards, not just in beaches but everywhere while immigration to Australia for permanent residency.
Generous tippings is not a custom followed in Australia. The workers in the service industry are generally paid in a fair manner. The country has the world’s highest minimum fixed wage. The workers are legally entitled to take minimum wage, work 40 hours per week, annual paid leaves, sick leaves etc. This ensures that the workers can afford basic necessities of life without much hustle. They are more likely expected to have sufficient disposable income. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that workers find tipping as a disrespectable act. The custom is not actually necessary in the system created by the authorities.
