If you are deciding upon the flooring for different rooms at home, you will find that you are presented with a whole range of options. If you are not sure how to start, here is a quick guide to the different benefits of three of the most used flooring options.

Wood

Wood has for a long time been one of the most used types of flooring options available. It is often most popular in living rooms and bedrooms rather than kitchens and bathrooms because it is not such a great option for rooms where water will probably get spilled.

Wood has a natural warmth and glow that can create a very special atmosphere in any room. Because wood is natural, every single plank that you use on your floor will be completely unique, meaning no other floor can be the same.

There are also many types of wood to select from, which each type having its own unique characteristics.

Above all, wood is long-lasting and provides a stylish appearance for any room. In addition, it is often recycled from old ships or buildings to reduce the environmental impact of your flooring.

Of course, it does have a few issues in that it is slightly more tricky to clean than some other flooring options, and it may not last so long as natural stone tiles or other types of flooring.

Tiles

Tiles are in many ways the ideal flooring solution for any room in the house. Ceramic floor tiles, porcelain floor tiles and natural stone tiles are incredibly durable, easy to clean and resistant to heat and water.

In addition, tiles come in an almost limitless range of colors and patterns so you can create your own unique floor pattern that will be different from anyone else's floor.

Tiles can also be non-slip for the bathroom and kitchen, making them a safe option for any room where spillages are common.

Carpet

Carpet is the classic choice for floors, but that will not mean it is always the best option. Carpets are popular because they are soft underfoot, they are warm and cozy in winter and there is an enormous range of colors and styles to choose from.

However, on the downside they are not heat resistant, they can stain easily when you drop something on to the floor, they can become damaged more easily and they don't last so long as floor tiles.

Conclusion

Choose the Best Flooring Option for You

There are several types of flooring for you really to choose from and has its own benefits. Take a look again at the qualities of the above three options, and then choose the most suitable option for the room at home that you are working on, whether that means wood, carpet or floor tiles.
