Ethics revolve around an individual’s moral judgment relating to what is right or wrong. The decisions that re are taken within an organization could be by an individual or group although whoever responsible for making these decision relies on the company’s culture. The decision to behave in an ethical manner is moral decisions in that employees have to decide what they believe to be the right course of action (Stanwick & Stanwick, 2015). Some of these could involve the rejection of path that could have produced significant profits for an organization.
There are various reasons as to why promoting ethical behavior in an organization can be advantageous to them in that ethical behavior acts as a strategy that the company applies in attracting clients to the products they offer. Thus, they can boost their sales along with profits. Additionally, it acts as a strategy that they employ in making their employees desire to stay thus reducing their labor turnover and consequently increasing their productivity. It also acts as a strategy for the company to attract employees and thus reduce their recruitment costs as well as getting most talented employees (Stanwick & Stanwick, 2015). Conducting their operations in an ethical environment will assist the organization to attract investors and additionally keep the organization’s share price high, offering protection against the business takeover.
There are three analyzes that position the foundation of business ethics. They encompass analytical descriptive as well as normative analyzes. The descriptive analysis offers the facts of an ethical issue, the analytical analyzes offers an explanation of why an unethical action happened, while normative ethics launch the resolution to avert unethical auxiliary conduct. Ethics can moreover be studied by teleological including deontological frameworks which study the individual’s ethical conduct (Stanwick & Stanwick, 2015).
