The Global University Employability Ranking recently released a survey report and the analysis claims that the universities of India are serving as ceding field to its global competitors in terms of preparing students to meet the challenges of modern workplace.
The annual ranking report t, listed 150 Institutions across the world on basis of employability. The list was result of a global survey done with 7000 international and recruitment managers of the major businesses. It was created by French HR Consultancy Emerging and in India it was published by Times Higher Education.

The Harvard University made it to top of the list, followed by the California Institute of Technology and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The Indian Institutes which made to the list as one of the leading Indian institutions in terms of employability are the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and IIT Bombay.

The list was first published in the year 2011 and since then somehow, India’s performance in the employability ranking has been inconsistent. It is quite sad that in spite of having such great institutions in the country only three universities made its way to the list top 150. The report is very evident in itself that the universities are struggling to make the reputational ground with global employers that like Institutes of other Asian nations. However, the reports also show that there are some improvements since 2011 but it is not as significant as other countries.

Talking about last year the Indian institutes who made to the list has shown the slight improvement in the ranking as IISc Bangalore slides up one rank and is currently on 28th position in the list. On the other hand IIT Delhi showed a great jump in the employability ranking and landed to 58th position from 145 in the last year.
The 2018 report reveals that leading companies in most countries value soft skills, such as communication and collaboration and whereas country like China value harder, practical skills more.
Data analysis of the Global University Employability Ranking reveals that the even this year US is continuing to dominate the list by rapidly narrowing the employability gap globally. Out of 150 Institutions in the list, America has 34 Institution, which earlier in the year 2011 was 55.

The UK to a great extent holds its top positions in the current year's ranking with total of 10 institutions. But at the same time US and UK colleges are likewise observed to battling in order to keep pace with worldwide competitors in preparing students for the advanced work environment.

To deliver the 2018 Global University Employability Rankings, two panels of participants involved in an online survey conducted between May and September 2018. The boards included respondents from 22 nations namely Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sweden, the UK and the US.
