Healthy And Delicious Cabbage Chana Dal Sabji

We have always been told to eat healthy food and especially during lunch. Roti and Sabji is a must. We didn’t know the importance of it back in those days, but, we know it now. Try this yummy Cabbage Chana Dal recipe by adding your favourite masalas or spices and create your own version of it. The Sabji is simple yet delicious and can be relished along with hot Chapatis or Parathas. So, just start cooking and let people fall in love with your cooking.


Ingredients


500 grams chopped cabbage

1/2 cup Chana Dal

2 green chillies

9-10 curry leaves

1 teaspoon mustard seeds (rai)

1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)

1/4 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)

1/2 teaspoon haldi powder

1 teaspoon red chilli powder

1 tablespoon finely chopped coriander leaves

4 tablespoon oil

Water as per the requirement to cook Chana Dal

Salt as per taste


Making of Cabbage Chana Dal Sabji:


1.
Rinse Chana Dal in enough water for 3-4 times. Drain all the water and fresh warm water. Soak Chana Dal in warm water for about 30 minutes.


2. Drain all the water and transfer it into the pressure cooker. Add soaked Chana Dal and some water. Pressure cook until soft.


3. Now, take a non-stick pan and heat some oil in it. Once the oil is heated, add rai and jeera to the pan. Allow the seeds to splutter. Once they stop spluttering, add curry leaves, green chillies, hing, and haldi powder to it. Mix well and saute for about few seconds.


4. Now, add the cooked Chana Dal to the pan and mix well. Cook for 30 seconds. Don't let the Chana Dal turn mushy.


5. Then, add the chopped cabbage and saute for about 1-2 minutes. Once the cabbage is cooked, add salt and red chilli powder to it. Mix well and cover the pan and let the cabbage get cooked.


6. Once the cabbage gets cooked, add in chopped coriander leaves. Mix well and saute for about a minute. Garnish this yummy Cabbage Chana Dal Sabji with chopped coriander leaves.


7. Serve it hot along with hot Chapatis or parathas or rice.
