Both Android and iOS have pros and cons. But the general consensus is that iOS is a little easier to pick up and use, while Android offers particularly a better way of customization and configuration. As iOS is easier to pick up and use, you can find plenty of innovative features below the shiny surface of this operating system.
If we take a sneak peek into the iPhone models, we see the iPhone 6 was the first model from Apple that came with better and powerful features than previous models. This smartphone was released in September of 2014. The iPhone had bundles of benefits over its earlier cousins, including a bigger screen, better camera, and faster performance.
However, there are several methods available in this smartphone that you can take to make it more powerful and user-friendly. The below-mentioned iPhone 6 hacks are easy to try and make the little gadget better than ever before.
1. Longer Passcodes
Passwords play a very important role in protecting your personal information. If you want to protect your data from going into the wrong hands then set a strong password. In older models of iPhones, you could set your password using alphabets and digits and that too to a certain length. But in iPhone 6, you can create a longer, more complex alphanumeric passcode to prevent stealers from gaining access to your precious data. Just visit Settings > Touch ID & Passcode to activate and set your passcode.
2. Favourite Website Access
As a 24/7 internet user, we randomly visit different websites and there are one or two websites that we visit several times a day. Rather than saving your favourite websites as bookmarks in Safari, the iPhone 6 allows you to save these websites directly to your home screen. When you visit a site, simply tap the export icon, then tap ‘Add to home screen’. An app icon will appear on your iPhone 6 home screen which will take you directly to that particular website.
3. Speed up your Sentences
If you are tired of writing a longer message, then you don’t need to worry now. If you are using iPhone 6 and writing a message, the system will automatically finish your sentences. You don’t need to worry about the spellings anymore. Your iPhone 6 will automatically correct these mistakes. And double tap the space bar and it will automatically add a period and space into your messages.
4. LED Flash Alerts
If you are in a place where you don’t want to be disturbed by the vibration or incoming alert tune from your iPhone and at the same time, expecting an important message, then you can set LED flash alert in such scenarios. This feature is also helpful for people with hearing problems.
Next time, if you are at a movie or a restaurant, where audible alerts are unwelcomed then enable this feature and avoid any disturbance. To enable, go to Settings > General > Accessibility and switch on "LED Flash for Alerts.
5. Take Multiple photos at the same time
The iPhone 6 came out in the market with lots of new features. One feature allows you to take multiple photos simultaneously. This is brilliant when you shooting a moving object. To capture burst photos, open the camera app and hold down the capture button. The camera will continuously take photos. When you are done, release the shutter button.
6. Battery Breakdown
You charge your iPhone all night and when you need it the most the battery run low on charge. You are wondering which app is taking your battery time. Well, in iPhone 6, you can figure it out. A new feature in Settings will tell you which apps are taking the highest amount of battery time. Go to Settings > Battery and see the complete stats about the battery of your iPhone 6.
7. Mute Group Chats
This one is for every person who gets annoyed by group text message alerts. With iPhone 6, you can mute group chats. At the top of the chat screen, select ‘Details’ and then select ‘Do Not Disturb’ option. By doing so, you would remain active in the chat but will not receive a stream of notifications. This also works with one-on-one messaging.
If your group is on iMessage, then you also have the option to completely leave the chat. However, this option is not available if you chatting with an Android user.
8. Shake and Undo
Some tips might seem a bit useless on first glance but it doesn’t mean they are not convenient. If you are writing a message or an email and enter a typo, just give your iPhone 6 a shake. You’ll bring up an option to Undo your last action. Just tap the Undo button, or hit Cancel if activated mistakenly. Apple puts this feature as an open source so other developers can add this into their apps as well.
9. Turn Down for Sleep
If you have a habit of falling asleep while listening to music, then iPhone 6 has an option to shut off the sound after you have already started snoozing. To activate the timer, turn on your music and access the clock app > Timer > When Time Ends > a list will appear, scroll to the bottom > select ‘Stop Playing’. That’s it.
10. Notification Widgets
Apple supports widgets for certain apps. For instance, the Notification widgets allow you to do things like check the news or view the Dropbox documents. IF you want some other apps to your Notification panel, then go to Settings > Notifications > and select your required app or apps to get the notification. You can also delete the ones you don’t need.
11. Send Last Location
Find My iPhone is an excellent feature in iPhone. And we suggest that if you haven’t activated this feature, you probably should. In your iPhone 6, there is a new feature called ‘Send Last Location’. This feature will send your phone’s location to you when the battery is critically low. To enable this, go to Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone and turn on "Send Last Location."
That’s it. These are our picks. Now after reading these exciting hacks, will you recycle iPhone 6 to upgrade or keep using it? Share your comments below.
