The gaming Industry nowadays is seeing significant advancements due to revolutionary changes in the field of science & technology. The graphics & visuals of the games are getting better with each passing day. Thus, we can now see very realistic pictures, faces of humans as well as landscapes in our monitors. What is Photogrammetry?

But as far as the gaming industry is concerned, the developers were not in favor of using photogrammetry methods as the computers and software’s were not perfect for the use of photogrammetry thus, keeping this innovation a low-profile.

Photogrammetry in a straightforward language uses the technique and methods of photography and Geometry. There are a couple of cameras that take pictures of one object from various places. The common points and coordinates in the image detect which indicates the position of the object in space. Various software and programs such as Agisoft Photoscan, Reality Capture or Autodesk Remake perform all the work. Every software has its pros and cons and can be used by professionals according to their requirements. Agisoft can reproduce as many details of an object as possible, and that’s why your computer requires a powerful graphics card. Reality Capture tries to filter and blur it to avoid noise. Whereas, Reality Capture is faster than Agisoft in data processing.

Photogrammetry now made its entrance into the exciting gaming industry. The most exciting game that uses real objects of the world made use of photogrammetry methods.
