If your child is in high school, you would know that s/he is in yet another stage of development. Much similar to the quick growth spurt while s/he was in middle school, now your teen is thinking and talking like an adult does. As a parent, it is only natural that you want the best for your child. Here are some milestones that you can keep track of in your teenager. If necessary, you can talk to your child’s teacher or physician. Counsellors in top schools in Dwarka sec 23 also provide great help in this case.

Physical Milestones
During the high school years, your child is growing at a fast pace. They may appear to have a bigger appetite, need more sleep, and display clumsy behaviours. Additionally, this is time that most of them learn to drive or ride and it is essential that their motor and coordination skills are well trained.
Cognitive Milestones
The top schools in Dwarka offer a variety of opportunities for a high school student. They are most likely to show increasing reasoning, separate factual information from fictional, and make logical guesses. At the same time, they begin to think in abstract terms, which is essential for the development of their sensitivity. But a strong inclination is toward understanding themselves and who they are. At school, they are encouraged to academic improvements, making them take their future into serious consideration. It is also likely that they develop moral judgment and understand the far-reaching results of their actions. As a parent, you can help build their cognitive skills by sharing your experiences in life including when you had failed.
Emotional & Social Milestones
In the early and late teenage, teens undergo rapid emotional and social changes. They may often appear as moody, belligerent, cranky, and adamant. You may find that your teen is eager to be part of social circles, is prone to peer pressure, and is usually embarrassed by her/his family. In the early years, s/he is likely to relate better with siblings and friends and may want to spend time away from you. However, this is also the time when emotional maturity could set in if they have exemplary role models before them. As they enter into their late teenage, they will have found a sense of identity, even if only temporarily. You can ensure that s/he can voice out their emotions, even if they are not in your favour. In that way, you are showing your child that it will always be in her/his best interest to share emotions, opinions, and ideas. Do your best to enhance their identity and sense of self.
An international school in Dwarka sec 23 is likely to offer enough experiences to a teenager to last for a lifetime. But, there is only so much that a school does. You, as a parent, have the responsibility to understand your growing teen, objectively deal with her/his emotions, times of despair, and instability. A safe, nurturing, and understanding environment at home helps a teenager to pass through her/his high school years with purpose. Also encourage your child to talk to the school’s counsellor so that s/he can learn to deal with problems in a constructive way. At home, provide a space where s/he feels unthreatened and welcomed.
It is likely that once your child enters high school, your life will change. You will have to address the imminent nature of growth and make peace with it. But as you are doing so, remember too that your child is going through her/his own set of tumultuous emotions. Together, you can make it easy for the both.
