A Delightful Thanksgiving With Barhyte Specialty Foods   By: Jeric James
Thanksgiving is fast approaching and as early as now, people have started planning on what to cook for that special day. I have the fondest memories of Thanksgiving. It is, after all, the only holiday that manages to reunite my entire family once every twelve months. We would gather at our family home and spend the entire day trading stories over good food. Oh how I love it when they'd start carving the turkey! Through the years, my mom has managed to develop recipes of her own that make me miss home-cooked meals whenever I'd go back to the city.(read entire article)

A Holiday Celebration Filled With Easy Healthy Recipes For Dinner.   By: Jeric James
I haven't really talked about how I spent my Christmas and New Year, right? It was the most laid-back two weeks of my life where I did nothing but eat to my heart's content. Can anyone say food coma? My mom made it her mission to prepare nothing but the best homecooked meals. With today's hectic urban lifestyle, working professionals often resort to fast food after a busy day at the office. It's convenient but also unhealthy. Fixing dinner shouldn't have to be a chore. Even if you're no culinary whiz, simple healthy dinner recipes are possible if you have a well-stocked pantry.(read entire article)

A Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing Recipe For Keeps!   By: Jeric James
They say it's hard to find good vinaigrette for keeps. At my office Christmas party a couple of weeks ago, I found the vinaigrette too oily thereby killing my appetite for the salad greens they were serving as appetizers. Then I heard about raspberry vinaigrettes and how it's one of the most popular salad dressings for weight loss because it's comparatively low in fat and calories. I've never tried one before since I was mostly familiar with balsamic or Italian vinaigrettes only. So out of curiosity, I decided to check the internet for recipes and try making one for myself.(read entire article)

Best Marinade For Chicken: Adding Flavor To Healthy Eating   By: Jeric James
Chicken, sans the skin, is a staple for healthy eaters. It's high in protein and, if prepared properly, low in fat. Coming up with the perfect marinade can offer a delicious foundation for dozens of different interesting meals which crushes the misconception that eating healthy means sitting down to bland, uninteresting food. A word of advice - try to steer clear of those store-brought versions as they tend to bring along less than stellar nutrition facts. Nothing beats the homemade variety since you can save sodium and other preservatives while ensuring a moist and delicious meal as an end product.(read entire article)

Best Marinade For Chicken: Asian-marinated Baked Chicken Recipe   By: Jeric James
In my attempt to kitchen-test every recipe that catches my fancy, I recently came across this Asian-Marinated Baked Chicken recipe from Amy Wisniewski. It's a fairly easy dish that you can whip up when you're pressed for preparation time since the other ingredients (aside from the chicken) come from whatever is in your pantry. Chicken, sans the skin, is a staple for healthy eaters. It's high in protein and, if prepared properly, low in fat. I'm a big fan of poultry dishes. My sister makes the best spicy chicken adobo and it's one of my ultimate comfort foods.(read entire article)

Easy Healthy Recipes For Dinner: Pork Chops With Pineapple Salsa   By: Jeric James
Remember when I mentioned that I cooked some chops for friends using an Asian-inspired easy pork marinade? They loved it so much they're begging me to cook it again for the month's potluck dinner. While I googled the recipe, the secret is getting a good Chinese five-spice powder that will bring the kick to the pork chops. A five-spice powder is a mixture of a variety of spices - the most common being star anise, cloves, Chinese Cinnamon, Szechuan peppercorns and Fennel seeds - that is used primarily in Chinese cuisine but also found in Asian or Arabic dishes. This pungent mix creates a balance of flavors meant to enhance the qualities in a dish without overwhelming it. Do not be fooled into thinking the "five" refers to the number of spices used. It is merely a nod to the five flavors - sour, bitter, sweet, pungent and salty - that are present in the powder.(read entire article)

How Easy Healthy Recipes For Dinner Revived My Love For Cooking   By: Jeric James
As I grew older I learned how to experiment with dishes that I loved. We had this Sunday barbecue tradition in the family wherein I would showcase the best marinade for chicken that I mixed or my easy pork marinade variant for the week. I learned how to prepare fresh garden salads using my mom's secret raspberry vinaigrette dressing recipe. In support of my culinary inclination, my parents gifted me with an herb garden that I diligently cultivated throughout high school. It provided me a ready stash of fresh basil, rosemary, thyme and oregano whenever I needed it for the dishes I cooked.(read entire article)

They usually occur in the parking lots of stadiums and arenas, before and occasionally after games and concerts.(read entire article)

Party Planning And A Not So Best Buffalo Wing Sauce   By: Jeric James
Last Saturday, a friend of mine celebrated her birthday early and gathered all her friends for some video karaoke sessions. Of course, such celebration warrants some food and drinks to keep the party going. I'm very picky of food in video karaoke places so I opted to have my dinner before going to the venue. In fairness to the organizers, food was never really a problem. Aside from the food ordered by the guests, we also had a dessert spread for the much needed sugar rush.(read entire article)
