Old Reliable Ambassador for Indian Roads

By Expert Author: Thomas Benjamin

When you, the daring adventurous types are on a difficult, torturous terrain, as you often are on Indian hill stations, you don’t go as much for comfort as for dependability. And, who can offer you the 100 percent reliability as the good old Ambassador?

Sls car rentals have been catering to millions in the past 15 years and know too well this humble automobile with a 65 year track record on Indian roads and terrain is often commented upon as a benevolent uncle who may chide you but never let you down.

Ambassador was the first car to be manufactured in India and has been plying on Indian roads since 1948. Time was when she happened to be the queen on roads envied by other vehicles. Its dependability, spaciousness and comfort factor have made it the most preferred car for generations of Indians and hilly-terrain tourists.

With passage of time this Old Reliable has upgraded itself and now comes loaded with the latest technological comfort features. Its MPFI engine with 16-bit ECU ensures easy cold start. Improved suspension, smoother gears, ergonomically designed plush seats, wider tyre, power steering and ample boot space add to driving and riding pleasure.

Though more elegant, sleek cars are available aplenty, Ambassador is still asked for its reliability and economy. The car now has diesel version that makes it economical to travel. The budget travelers love this vehicle while the rich travelers go for it due to its amble boot space and versatility. No other car takes to Indian roads as Ambassador does.

“Please give me this time Ambassador car for my south Indian tour,” wrote Husson Bjorg from Milan who was coming with his old flame for a beach-cum-backwater tourism in Goa and Kerala. We find this requested resonated in many other instances. No, we are not promoting Ambassador which can do without it but telling you a matter of fact why this car is a preferred one for tough terrain.

Fiat, another car of Italian technology, manufactured in India by Premier Automobiles used to be number 2 in Indian road travel after Ambassador. But, Fiat has undergone many changes and the old Fiat is no longer in circulation.

Sls car rentals have ensured a wide array of cars from the Gen Old to Gen X and Y such as Ambassador, Mahindra, Tata Indica, Mercedes Benz, Toyota Innova, Maruti Swift and Zen etc The idea is that we want our clients of all age groups to have some favourite wheel to choose from. You alone are the decision maker though we give honest, good advice after considering the type of terrain you intend to travel to.
