Hands are ranked in order, with Royal Flush being the best, and High Card being the lowest.

Royal Flush - A very difficult hand to come across ? this is a sequence of 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace of the same suit. You''ll be in the money if you have this hand!

Straight Flush - Any straight with five cards from the same suit.

Four of a Kind - Four cards of the same value. When two players have the same Four of a Kind, then whoever has the highest fifth card or ''kicker'' wins the hand.

Full House - Three cards of the same value combined with a pair of the same value. Aces full of Kings, or three Aces and two Kings, is the highest full house possible.

Straight ? Five consecutive cards of different suits. Aces count as either a high or low card. A straight from Ace to five is the lowest possible straight.

Three of a Kind - A hand which has three cards of the same value. For instance three Aces, a King and a Queen, which would be the highest possible three of a kind.

Two Pair - Two sets of pairs. For instance, King-King, Queen-Queen with a kicker.

High Card ? Any hand not in the above mentioned hands. Whichever card is highest from your five will count.
