Pretreatment And Grit Removal From Sewage Water To Repurpose It
Total Articles: 12
Pretreatment of the sewage water refers to the preliminary removal of the sludge constituents such as Harsh Solid Particles, Oil, Grit, Grease, Trash, etc. The sewage treatment plants are manufactured with the treatment technology to help you reduce the abrasion of mechanical parts and enhance the life of the sanitation infrastructure. They are ideal for removing the accumulated solids and minimize the blockages of public drains due to dumping down sewage water of industries in the drains. The treatment includes screening, floating, settling, and filtration mechanisms to make the sewage water safe for disposing off in the public drains or the main drains.
Effective And Efficient Waste Removal Mechanisms:-
Screen - It is the first process of the treatment to remove all the solids like trash, rags, plastic, etc. efficiently. The aim of screening the sewage water is to prevent these elements to the treatment plant and trap the solids on the bar racks of inclined screens. These screens are later cleaned either with the hands or raked mechanically. There are principally two types of the screens, one is coarse screen and other is fine screen to trap all the solid matters easily.
Grinders - The size of the coarse solids changes and the small solids are removed at this stage. The grinder at this stage cut down the larger solid matters while preventing these from hindering the process and application of grit removal. It basically churns the matters into smaller consistent particles.
Grit Chamber - Grit includes sand particles, gravel, cinder, and other heavy materials that can be settled at the bottom easily. The grit chamber made of latest technology and is protected from the damage as the presence of the sand hinders the entire process. So all the designs of the mechanism allow the grit particles to settle down at the bottom and the lighter organic ones remain suspended.
Applicability And Pretreatment Of The Sewage Water:-
The facilities to clean the waste water are monitored regularly to ensure the proper operation and functioning of the same. The maintenance for the system is quite low, so you don't need to maintain the system too often. After the treatment, the products accumulated during the treatment are disposed off in a way that it will not harm the environment anyhow. This prevents the clogging of public drains and also helps to avoid the choking. The water becomes optimal to reuse in different applications while eliminating all the hazardous elements. The water is used for the irrigation purposes as well as for washing, pH adjustment, and fire protection.
