Recently it has been a lot in news that RO water purifiers are not good for health as it decreases the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) of water after purification which also is not that good for health, this is somewhat true, and RO membrane generally reduces TDS by up to 90-95%.

The membrane however is not selective in removing the minerals and the impurities; it removes both the impurities and the minerals at the same time.
