If you are looking for an Acupuncture Specialist in Mumbai for Osteoarthritis, you would definitely get many suiting your needs. But have you ever wondered how suitable is Acupuncture for Osteoarthritis? Also called degenerative arthritis or degenerative joint disease, osteoarthritis is a disease which affects millions of human beings, especially when they reach over 65 years

Acupuncture acts as the pain reliever for this disease. Being one of the oldest practices for pain healing existing in the world, acupuncture originated in the land of China. It is considered as an alternative medicine and its main aim is restoration of and maintenance of health. It is conducted by inserting excessively thin needles through the skin at various strategic points in a body. There are more than 2000 pressure points in a body which are connected to the internal organs. In order to treat these organs and for stimulation of blood circulation, needles are inserted in these pressure points and required pressure is applied. Sometimes in critical condition, needles together with electronic ...
... stimulation are also used. One can say that acupuncture is having its positive effect when one feels numb or a tingling like sensation, called qi, in the area where the needle is inserted. Acupuncture treatment can help cause relief to the patient under both conditions, i.e. if used solo or together with other conventional treatments.

Many researches have been carried out about treatment of acupuncture for osteoarthritis. Studies have shown that patients have been relieved off of their pain to a great extent and their physical function had also improved at the end of 26 weeks of medication. Acupuncture is also considered relatively safer than other no steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and other Osteoarthritis medications as it has got relatively fewer side effects. However on patients suffering from bleeding disorders, acupuncture should be avoided. The medical practitioner should use uncontaminated packed needles meant for single usage. Reusing the used needle can lead to the danger of transmission of various diseases. One of the most common side effects of acupuncture is suffering a bruise or bleeding where the needle is inserted. As insertion of needle into the skin can hardly cause injury to an internal organ, acupuncture is considered safe. However in order to avoid any sort of adverse effect it is best advised that professionally certified acupuncture practitioner conducts the acupuncture treatment. If not done properly, injury to internal organs may be caused and acupuncture can also result in diarrhea, fatigue, headaches, nausea, swelling, etc. However, if a patient gets positive results then it is always recommended to continue acupuncture as it may result in total riddance of his ailment.
