Cards have been rooted in the Indian culture for centuries. The game that people play doesn't really matter, as long as it involves cards. The sheer affinity Indians have for cards know no boundaries. While Rummy takes prevalence in South India, Teen Patti does so with even more zeal and vigour up north. However, of late, a new game has emerged through the rank which finds itself at the intersection of the two.
Why the intersection though, you ask? The reason is this, owing to its intriguing nature, poker is one card game that almost invariably appeals to people from all regions of the country. With teen patti being a game of chance, variations and the ability to bluff add to the excitement but factors like probability or math are missed. In rummy, the preponderance of skill is indubitable, however, it scores a little low when it comes to excitement or the thrill of bluffing somebody else out, even when they had the best hand. This is where poker jumps in- it combines the USPs of both teen patti and rummy and culminates in something that gives players the best of both worlds.
