Breast Implants - Choosing The Right Type For You
Deciding to have breast implants may be easy, but choosing the size of the implants can be a difficult decision. With so many options, the process of choosing one can become overwhelming. Be sure to speak with your preferred board-certified and experienced cosmetic surgeon to discuss your options and find out which ones can be legally provided in your country.
The sizes of breast implants range from 100 to 1000 cubic centimetres (cc). A cubic centimetre is equal to a millilitre (0.3 ounces). Most women go for breast implants that are 300cc to 400cc in size. When exploring sizes, keep in mind that they differ according to height and diameter, too. Hence, do your homework and consider the following factors when selecting the right type of breast implants for you:
• Body type - Women who have a lean body type and naturally small breasts tend to choose the larger implants without considering the consequences. If you are not used to getting too much attention with your new breasts, you may want to consider medium sized implants ...
... instead.
• The shape of your body - If you have a strong build, your body should easily be able to carry larger breasts. If you are small and you get larger implants, you could easily suffer from shoulder and back pains, and you may have to consider having the implants reduced or removed if you cannot take them anymore. Hence, be sure to choose breast implants that is appropriate for your body type to avoid rework and additional costs.
• What the implants are made of - Silicone is often the material used in breast implants, but there are newer products that are using stronger and more durable materials, which provide the possibility for custom-made implants, too. Reputable cosmetic surgeons in the UK offer Polytech breast implants, which come in 600 types and in a variety of textures, profiles, and sizes for natural looking results. They are made of multiple layers of silicone-elastomeric and a barrier to prevent permeation, with a surface that can either be textured, smooth, or covered with Microthane.
Natrelle is another type of high-end breast implants offered in the UK, with 500 choices to pick from in four gel types, four projections, and in a textured or smooth surface.
