Primarily known as British model, Katrina Kaif has got immense applaud for her acting in Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil movies. Awarded as Best Actress awards two times at Filmfare, she is one of the most famous and highest paid celebrities in India.

Early life – Born in Hong Kong on 16 July 1983, Katrina Kaif is one of eight children of her parents. Her father is an Indian who loved in Kashmir and her mother is Caucasian of British nationality. Her mother, Susanna also spelt as Suzanne, is a charity worker and lawyer. Mohammad Kaif, her father, is a businessperson. She has three elder sisters (Stephanie, Christine and Natasha), three younger sisters (Melissa, Sonia, Isabel) and an elder brother, Michael. Her parents get divorced when she was child and her father went to USA leaving her. Her family keeps moving from Hong Kong to England and visited several countries China, Japan, France, Switzerland and Poland. Modeling career – At the age of 14, Kaitrina Kaif won a Hawaii beauty contest and got her first modeling assignment for jewelry campaign. She worked for several freelance agencies and kept appearing for London Fashion Week regularly. At a fashion show in 2003, she drawn Kaizad Gustad’s attention and this led her to work in Hindi movie, Boom. She appeared at India Fashion Week and Kingfisher Calendar. She has done modeling for brands like Samsung, LG, Fevicol and Coca-Cola.

Bollywood career – Her role in the movie, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, helped her to get recognized & success and she kept her success continue in the movie, Namastey London in 2007. She has worked in films Sarkar (2006), Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (2006), Partner, Welcome, Tehelka, Race (2008), Singh Is King, Yuvaraj and so on. She got Filmfare Award for best acting in a terrorism drama New York (2009). In addition, she got Filmfare Award second time for her performance in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011). Some of her other successful movies are Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009), Raajneeti (2010) and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Dhoom 3 (2013).

In spite of mixed reviews and criticism, she has established herself as a successful actor in Bollywood. She gathers crowd whenever she performs on the stage.

Off screen work – Apart from modeling and film career, she works for her mother charitable trust, Relief Projects India, which works for rescuing abandoned baby girls and female infanticide. She has donated the winning fund from Kaun Banega Crorepati and 10 Ka Dum to her mother’s Mercy Home Orphanage. She has walked on the ramp for charity as a part of Salman Khan’s show Being Human. She recorded Rhyme Skool to raise funds for a new school in Madurai. The recording was done for nursery rhymes that were composed by AR Rahman. She performed onstage for Temptation Reloaded in 2008 and 2013. In addition, she has performed in the closing ceremony of IPL 2009 and opening ceremony of IPL 2013.
