What You Learn From Travelling The World
Total Articles: 39
There’s much to be learned from travelling. You may learn a new hobby, a new language or even something valuable about yourself. But apart from all of this, there are more than a few life lessons waiting to be learnt on every trip you take. Here’s just a few of those many things that travel will teach you if you approach it with an open mind and heart.
1. You begin to learn what you love
No one thing in this world can give you all the answers, but travelling comes pretty close. Stepping out of your comfort zone and into the unknown will teach you a lot about yourself and the world at large. You’ll have a better understanding of the things that matter the most to you, and most importantly, you’ll learn to get by on your own.
2. You’ll see you’re not alone
We often tell ourselves that we’re alone, and frequently we are. But travelling will teach you that no matter what your situation might be, you’re never truly alone. Seek help from people, or make an attempt to understand them, their lives and their culture and you’ll be surprised to find you can make friends wherever you go.
3. You’ll learn the value of the transient relationship
When travelling, you’ll meet people and share stories and experiences that might last for just a few hours or even minutes. You’ll form connections you never knew you could for the sake of getting to know people. You’ll learn that it’s okay to just share a few great moments and not exchange numbers or contact information. You’ll learn that there is beauty in letting go.
4. You’ll learn to experiment
Travelling through unknown places will make you comfortable with experimentation. After all, when you hop on a bus without being entirely sure of where it’s going or choose an item of a menu in a language you can't read, you’ll be left with no choice. You’ll learn to turn doubt into amazing experiences by just embracing uncertainty.
5. You’ll learn to go with flow
Aside from reading up on the culture of the place you're visiting, you don’t have to meticulously plan out every detail of your trip. You’ll find joy is just doing what your heart tells you to – whether it’s trying out that weird looking street food, or going out to dinner with that exotic looking stranger.
6. You’ll begin to love being lost
Leave the guide book behind and just wander the streets. You’ll be amazed at how much you’ll experience the culture of a city by just allowing yourself the freedom to get lost in it.
7. You’ll understand a different way of life
Every place you visit has a unique way of looking at life. The more you immerse yourself in the culture, talk to the locals and really try to see things from their perspective, the wiser you’ll become when it comes to accepting and dealing with situations in your own life.
