Remember the times when the resources that our nature possessed were highly sufficient to fulfill all basic needs of the human race? The current scenario, however, implies the fact that we have come a long way. In the past few years, the world has witnessed some extreme effects of the damages that have been caused to the environment. Instances like Massive landslides, drowning cities, melting icebergs, cyclones, and air pollution to an extent where a city remains covered in smoke for a number of days; and the pollutant level in the air reaches to an extreme limit of 999 PM, are just a few experienced effects. Such images of natural disasters personify the revolution our ecosystem has begun against the human race. However, the major symptoms of the continuous damages that are being caused to our environment are still unnoticed. Some of such major factors that are not evidently visible to the population of this world, but signify the disastrous era of climate change we are moving forward to consists rising sea levels, warming oceans, reducing ice sheets and arctic lines and a drastic rise in global temperature over a decade. In order to achieve sustainable survival on this land for the generations to come, everyone needs to ensure that the situation doesn’t get any worse. Adapting to climatic changes and protection of natural resources is the need this hour. The first step towards which, is spreading awareness about the cause and effect attribute and the later is to engage every individual to be a part of the movement that would enable protection of our natural resources and climate change adaptation.
In the recent times, a lot of measures have been adopted and innovations were brought up to curb the issue of climate and resources’ protection by various NGOs, Environmentalist, Entrepreneurs and renowned Companies. For an instance, the United Nations launched 17 Sustainable development goals that are to be achieved by the world together till 2030. These goals have been drafted keeping in mind the frame of issues inclining to depletion of natural resources, sustainable industrial and economic development and Climate actions. Also, many local organizations also took up projects and created their business models around the two issues, hence contributing a solution to the crisis. On the other hand, a few other initiatives in India, like Earth Care Awards, worked towards spreading awareness about the parameters that can be taken up. They did so by awarding projects and people who worked to achieve the vision and showcased the impact on a considerable level. Hence, indulge more and more people in being a part of
the movement. However, as it is said that, “the earth has enough for man’s need but not for its greed.” Therefore, it is the responsibility of every citizen to take some action and bring innovation in their everyday lives in order to sustain our resources and protect the climate. http://www.earthcareawards.com/
