Fa Cup: Liverpool V Plymouth – Youngest Starting Xi In Reds’ History

Football Association plans to increase the FA Cup prize money in order to help reduce League clubs, says CEO Martin Glenn.

In October, the FA has signed a six-broadcast overseas rights deal for the post season in the FA Cup – reportedly worth £ 820M.

He said Glenn Football Association could raise the current £ 25M fund because of the deal, which start from the 2018-19 season.

“The FA Cup is a great way to redistribute money to the lower league,” said Glenn BBC Radio 5 Live.

“The prize fund is £ 25M”, said Glenn Sportsweek. “We’re looking to increase that over the coming years, we hope to benefit the small clubs.”

He also said Glenn Football Association may look at the introduction of the “unity” of the payment of money that will help the division more alike. Under the current system, the clubs get a larger amount of money if the televised match

Sports Minister warned Tracey Crouch last month that the government will work on legislation to impose FA reforms if the governing body does not make the same changes, determine the April deadline for the Football Association to “determine the path of reform.”

Glenn confirmed some of the concerns of the five executives Union officials, former England, including the former head of Greg Dyke, who said the organization held back, “elderly white men.”

Figures show that 122 members in the House of Football Federation .92 aged more than 60, eight women and four are from the ethnic minorities.

“It’s more representative by white males who are very old and they do not really reflect the people in the game and this is an opportunity,” said Glenn.

“With the reform of the Council, and we would like to see term limits and that the government would like to see term limits so that you can not stay there for life.

“You could do three sets of four years, and then move on new blood so that it can come through.”

The third round saw the FA Cup for many aspects of the Serie A spin ranks, with Bournemouth made 11 changes before losing 3-0 away to League One side Millwall.

But Glenn said he was happy for the teams to use the competition to juggle resources.

“I think they Bournemouth undefended. Eddie Howe can make its own reasons for that.”

“Do not bother me. Premier League teams really understand the value of the English FA Cup brings them.

“People want to do a good job in the cup, but the positive side is that these big clubs have great teams, you want to give people game time.

“Give a chance to young players to get a real game experience is not a bad thing.”
