A hair transplant surgery is the surgical removal of hair follicles from one part of the scalp, and transferring them to the part of the scalp with little or no hair growth. Recently the surgery has become quite popular among many men and women, who suffer from receding hairline issues and excessive hair loss.

Many opt for hair transplant in Chennai, India which offers some of the best facilities in the country. This outpatient surgery is quite safe and is generally done under the influence of local anaesthesia. If the Hair transplantation in Chennai is performed by an experienced doctor the procedure does not lead to much discomfort and rarely leads to complications.

Here is what one should except when undergoing a hair transplant surgery-

Prior to the surgery the doctor will review the medical history of the patient and answer any pending questions. The relevant measurements are taken and an evaluation is done of the quality of hair, after which the individual is prepped for the surgery. The anaesthetist will start with mild sedation to make you comfortable, after which local anaesthesia is applied to the region of the scalp that is to be operated.

During the procedure, first the donor hair follicles are removed, generally from the back region of the head after which dissection is done. Small incisions are made on the scalp to implant the donor hair. Once the implantation is done, the area is lightly bandaged. You can expect to be awake during the procedure and witness the transplantation.

The bandage on the head is generally removed the very next day. After the procedure small crusts tend to form on the area which has been grafted as it heals. The doctor gives clear instructions on how to clean the operated area to remove scabs. The crusts take about 7 to 10 days post-surgery to completely flake off.

One can resume their daily activities in about 2 weeks of the hair transplant surgery. You will initially notice some hair fall from the transplanted area, but this is natural. The transplanted hair does fall off, but the roots stay intact and soon new hair start growing again in some time.

Hair transplant surgery does not show immediate results. One has to be patient and wait for the transplanted hair to fall out and new hair to begin growing again. The surgery though makes a great difference and generally shows positive results. Get a hair transplant in Chennai from a good doctor for effective results.
