1V0-642 VMware Certified Associate 6 - Network Virtualization 6.2 Exam helps you stand out to gain higher credibility when challenges like virtualization of network, the business challenges VMware NSX and similar networking technologies are to be designed. Moreover, finding out how virtualization of the network with NSX can address said challenges also comes under the umbrella of this course. By taking this course you will acquire the ability of defining technical requirements for network virtualization, describe and distinguish VMware NSX components as well as technologies and identify common use cases and how they should be addressed.
There are no particular pre-requisites for taking this exam. There are a total of 50 questions of single and multiple choices in this exam, that are to be solved within the duration of 75 minutes. The minimum score for passing this exam is 300. It is available in English language only.
There are four sections that need to be covered in order to pass this exam. First section consists of Explanation of SSDC and Network Virtualization concepts and Use Cases. This section further has the first objective of comparing traditional Data center and Network challenges with SSDC as well as the benefits of Network Virtualization. The candidate should have enough knowledge of understanding vSphere virtual switching and identifying uses and benefits of a vSphere standard and distributed switch. The second objective of this section is concerned with describing Network Virtualization concepts. Candidate is supposed to know about physical network switches, access ports and trunks ports. Third objective is describing SSDC concepts, where candidate should have knowledge of indentifying virtual machine port groups, uplink ports and differentiating between them.
The second section of this exam is about differentiating VMware NSX component and services which has five objectives namely Identify and differentiate NSX Fabrics, Describing vSphere networking architecture and components, comparing and distinguishing VXPLAN logical switching benefits and functions, comparing and distinguishing NXS logical routing benefits and functionality and fifth one is describing NSX EDGE service functionality.
The third section of this exam is about differentiating NSX Security Benefits and Features, comprising objectives of comparing and differentiating NSX Security benefits and functionality, describing NSX Logical Firewall service and comparing and distinguishing NSX service Composer functionality.
The fourth section is about differentiating NSX Network Virtualization Use Case. It has four objectives as: describing typical NSX Network Virtualization use cases, explain the role of NSX in workforce mobility, explaining the role of NSX in IT automation use cases and explaining the role of NSX in application continuity and disaster use cases.
