Enterprise Resource Planning [ERP] – It is one of the expensive tool to streamline work flow and to cut down costs. But if you don’t plan properly before utilizing this tool then for sure it will cost you millions and leaves your company in a bad shape.
So to overcome from this situation, here are few common ERP mistakes that need be avoided to minimize the potential problems.
1. Unrealistic Planning
Planning is vital if you want your ERP project to get succeed, but while planning it should be realistic. If it is unrealistic planning it often leads to confusion down the road. It might not fully understand the current process and leads to minimize business benefits and efficiency.
2. Selecting Vendor Matters a Lot
It is one of the major mistakes everyone will come across it. In the process of selecting the vendors, it’s just not enough to browse through any website to select the appropriate one. Instead call to the particular company and ask about their service/ product. This gives the chance to enquiry more about the company. Finally don’t forget to ask for reference so that you can enquiry more.
3. Neglecting The Key Features
In the annual ERP survey report it has proved that only 46% of people having a good understanding of which key features they are using in their ERP system, rest are not familiar with the key features. So try to understand the key features, without knowing this there are more chances to miss opportunities to automate business processes and to meet business objectives.
4. Inappropriate Time Estimation & Resource
Many companies randomly estimate the time and resources which are required to implement the new system. This may lead to call-off the project from the clients. So to avoid this use few steps to avoid such conflicts follow few steps like review the problem, resolve the problem and remember the problem. So that it doesn’t repeat in the future.
5. Incomplete Training
While implementing the ERP system, it is very important to train the faculty or hiring the well trained employee. Lack of training is one of the major reasons for terminating the projects. So before implementing the ERP system make sure your employees are capable to work with the new system and train them with proper requirements.
6. Poor Database
If you want to get the accurate result for your ERP system then make sure you have an appropriate database. Because it is imperative to follow structural programming and procedural parameters to minimize the likelihood of errors, so maintain the accurate database.
