The Importance Of Calcium For Growing Kids

We are all aware of the fact that calcium is an essential need for our bones. Especially, when we talk about growing children, the value of a calcium rich diet cannot be neglected. Therefore, children with low calcium intake during their early years may be laying a poor foundation on which their strong bones would be built in adulthood. This is because of the way our body regulates calcium. If there is little or no calcium available to absorb in the digestive tract, the body will start using calcium from our bones, eventually leaving the bones fragile and brittle at one point of time, leading to a disease known as osteoporosis in future.
