Refrigeration has revolutionized many industries. Almost every industrial unit uses some type of refrigeration, whether to remove heat or just for the comfort of its employees. With the growing demand for refrigeration systems in different sectors, refrigeration products supplier in UAE are marketing high-quality refrigeration parts like Evaporators, Condensers, Compressors, valves, humidifier, leak detector and copper pipes for superior quality refrigeration systems.

A refrigeration system operates through a process called the refrigeration cycle. In the refrigeration cycle, there are five basic components: a fluid refrigerant; a compressor, the condenser coils, the evaporator coils and an expansion device. A refrigerator compressor is the most important part of the refrigeration cycle. Compressors are very delicate components that must be properly maintained and lubricated in order to attain high efficiency and a long service life.

Role of Compressor in the Refrigeration Cycle

How the cooling cycle works is fairly simple. It implicates the ideal gas law which explains how gases undergo a change in temperature when they are subjected to a variation in pressure. The function of the compressor is to circulate the refrigerant. The gaseous refrigerant is driven from the compressor as a high-pressure gas and moves into a condenser. In the condenser, the gas is converted into a liquid, which then flows through a pipe to a metering device. This metering device is also called an orifice, expansion valve, or piston. The basic function of this device is to neck down the opening in the line and create a large pressure drop on the back side. With the drop in pressure, the refrigerant’s temperature also drops down.

Next to the metering device is the evaporator. This is where the heat transfer takes place. The air passing over the evaporator is warmer than the refrigerant passing through the evaporator. The heat from this air is absorbed by the refrigerant in the evaporator and then conveyed back to the condenser where it is removed. The compressor is what causes this flow.

In reality, a refrigerator does not cool, but transfers heat. That is precisely how the refrigeration cycle works. Heat is transferred from an area where it is not wanted to an area where it can be released and for this heat transfer process, different modules are incorporated. The involvement of different unit in the refrigeration cycle has increased the demand for quality refrigeration spare products.

Industry Designations for Compressors

At an industrial level, the numerous compression schemes are termed as hermetically sealed, semi-hermetic or open compressor. In the case of hermetic and semi-hermetic compressors, the motor and compressor are combined to form a single unit that operates within a pressurized gas environment. In this way, the compressor unit and the gas form an interdependent relationship. The unit compresses the gas and the gas cools the unit. The major difference between hermetic and semi-hermetic compressors is that the hermetic compressors are manufactured as a one-piece welded steel casing with no provision to be opened in the future whereas semi-hermetic compressors can be opened for repair. The main benefit of both types of compressors is that neither offers a leakage path for the gas to escape. While open compressors can be driven by sources other than electricity, such as an internal combustion machine or a turbine, they are prone to leakage over time, especially as the seals start to age.

Conclusion

For an efficient and long-running refrigeration systems, it is important that all the constituting parts are high performing and of the utmost quality. To achieve this leading refrigeration products suppliers in UAE provide the different types of compressors fabricated by world class refrigeration equipment manufacturers for different industrial applications.
