Year 2000 marked the debut of Walt Disney's The Lion King in London Westend and went on becoming one of the hottest tickets in town. Julie Taymor's epic production is a stunning collaboration of live action, puppetry and incredible sets. The spectacular production has enlivened up the classic film featuring a cast of colourful characters.
The wonderful world of the African savannah has been re-created with life sized elephant to the loveable, yet evil hyenas. The blockbuster award show features some of the memorable score by song writing duo Elton John and Tim Rice. The show has some of the heart warming songs such as "The Circle of Life", "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "I Just Can't Wait to Be King".
The award winning London show is set against the backdrop of African pride-lands and pens at the birth of Simba the Lion Cub to King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi. The evil brother of Mufasa, Scar is jealous of the newborn Prince. He wants to get rid of him along with his brother to be the King of Pride Rock.
