What is the point in traveling in a luxury motor coach if you cannot bring all your comfort items to the trip? Buyers, especially the young shoppers, give top priority to storage space while selecting travel vehicles. Are you in the market to sell an RV model that was manufactured before the mid 90’s? You might have a difficult time marketing your RV due to storage issues. Unlike today's models, these old units do not have outside storage compartments. In addition, their narrow doors make it impossible to make way for substantially large items. Wondering how to sell your small RV to younger buyers who prefer to carry a lot of stuff on every road trip? Here are five innovative ways that may allow you to create additional storage space inside your coach and make it attractive for your prospects:

Create Rear Storage

Build a platform and mount it on the rear of the motor home. One can use this extra storage space to keep boats, bikes, barbecue grills, step ladder, and many other outdoor items. Use a two-inch hitch extender that will make towing their vehicles easier for the buyers. This simple innovation allows for some extra space for both a platform and a towing vehicle.

Utilize the Basement Space

You can use the RV basement space, especially the space under the bathroom, for storing items that you use only seasonally or less frequently such as winter clothing and decorative items. Show this area to the prospective buyers and tell them how they can access this almost eight foot wide storage space from either side of the RV.

Throw in a Few Large Storage Tubs

Tell your buyers how they can keep things organized in large plastic storage tubs. Apart from the obvious space benefit, highlight the other aspects such as keeping the things safe from dust and water. Instead of simply throwing things inside the tubs, ask the buyers to first keep the items inside smaller plastic tote boxes, label them, and then place them inside the tubs. This will help them in finding an item easily.

Create Under-the-Bed Storage

RV beds allow you to lift them up, providing substantial, easily accessible storage space inside. Besides extra bedding, tell the buyers how they can utilize this space for keeping books and even kitchen items. However, they do need to place the items in separate plastic containers. This will prevent all the canned goods and other food items from rolling around while the RV is on the move. The buyers can even use cardboard cutouts to divide this under-the-bed storage into separate compartments.

Add a Chest Freezer

Older RVs typically have smaller refrigerators. How to overcome this challenge? Install a small chest freezer at one corner of your kitchen. This allows you to stock up on a variety of food items without taking up much of the floor space. Need more storage for the frozen food? Keep a portable chest freezer in the outside storage compartment. Your buyers will love this new addition.

A well-planned storage area can be a great bonus for your prospects. Stop worrying over the question how to sell your RV, instead, focus on carving out more storage space inside your RV. Refer to our tips for help.
